I'm having my band surgery on 08/21/2008. I was excited about surgry until today. For some reason, today at work the conversations were about weight loss surgry and people dying from them. Or people not doing well and getting sick after weight loss. One of my coworkers even showed me a death certificate of someone who died in 2004 and the cause of death was gastric bypass!! No, they were not talking about the band, but gastric bypass. I know the band is safer than the baypass and so on. These coworkers don't know about my band surgery. As I said earlier, I was excited about the surgery until today. Now I actually feel bad about it. I know I let them get into my head, and I can't compare my getting the band to those who have had complications from bypass. But right now it does not change this down feeling that I have.
