I have TriCare and they do not require you to stay the night. I was out of surgery at 9 AM and went home by 6 PM. Your doctor might want you to have the extra care, you should also call TriCare yorself and make sure. The surgery isnt bad at all, I was up showered, dressed, w make up and my hair done running errands the next day! Good luck and congrats on your journey

I think your doing great so far, my goal is to be down 50 Pounds before my husband gets home for R&R from Afgan, I cant wait to see the look in his eyes when he sees me! Another goal is im a shopaholic and once I do lose the 50 pounds I get to go buy me some new jeans off the shelf. Keep up the good work and if u want to cheat have one day a week where u can have a small something that way ull be looking forward to your cheat day

Thats is beyond awesome! I am so proud of you 40 pounds in 6 1/2 weeks dang -
Alrighty today is day 5 going on day 6 post op and I am feeling great I have lost a toatl of 20 pounds since I started my clear liquid diet pre op, 263 looks amazing I am so motivated! My mom who wasnt to supportive of the whole LaBand has even made some good remarks about how you can see the weight loss. I still get up shower and go run errands but i dont feel like doing my hair and make up just yet. Today I also got my 1 year old back and wow she is more of a handful then I remember!!! The weather here sucks it is getting up to 114 and i cant go outside without feeling horrible!!! I have been eating soups not the super healthy ones, but potato and brocli w cheese soup and I take maybe 5 bites at the most and im full! I also eat tons of sugar free popsicles just for the flavor! I can feel my food going through my port and sometimes if i swallow to fast or drink to fast I have a small sharp pain in my chest but it only takes a few seconds to go away. i have also had a couple of crackers i chewed chewed chewed and they went down fine, all the soups and water have my stomache on edge and I just needed something heavier to help me feel better.<- there I go making an excuse as to why I ate something bad! Anyways As for soreness I am a little tender ive been lifting my baby and chasing her with no problem. Like I said before I have a goal in mind and no pain will stop me!!!!

I was on clear liquid diet for 2 weeks but cheated a couple time during the first week. And the surgery isnt bad at all, I woke up and felt like I couldnt breathe but they gave me meds and oxygen and I was fine. You just feel sore, you have to get up and walk walk walk! Thats all I did and yes you will feel nausea but its not bad either, I had gotten my galbladder out in Oct 2010 and that surgery and post op was horrible I couldnt move! But I was sleeping on my stomach day of surgery. Good luck and congrats on your decision

Haha I was banded June 21 and hun it is scary its a life change but man its worth it! You will have a new you and you who you will be proud to be a healthy you! I was horrible at the liquid diet I cheated the first week aftr 2 days but got right back on it and lost 13 pounds in 9-10 days, as for the surgery I wasnt nervous or anything when I got to the hospital but as soon as they wheeled me back to the OR I started to freak my nurse had the Band and assured me it was well worth it, post op isnt bad of course you will be sore but get up and walk and walk and walk. After surgery the diet isnt bad at all, I am just trying to say its not as bad as you think! You choose the surgery for a reason and just keep your goal in mind. I to am not an expert but I can be here to help support you!

Ok so heres an update on how my surgery and the few days post op have gone. I was beyond stocked when I got to the hospital Tuesday morning, I was the first patient there and I even beat the staff, I think the nerves didnt hit til they started wheeling me back and thats when panic mode set in I didnt know if this was truely what I wanted, did I really want to be banded for the rest of my life? I had an awesome nurse who was with me and told me she had the band and had lost 120 pounds so far and that it was the best decision she had ever made, she calmed me down, and I got wheeled into the OR and by the time I realized what happened I was in the rcovery room waking up, the only thing that I hated was I felt like I couldnt breathe I was smoothered kind of, but they put oxygen on me and it got better. I then when to my actual room where I still had the oxygen on and got to sleep. I slept for a few hours and decided to walk, since my nurse completely sucked at her job I took my monitors off myself and went for a walk, it wasnt to bad it was actually pretty nice, by the way I got up and down and all around by myself, after my walk was lunch and I ate chicken broth and some jello it didnt really sit well, so I just drank my water, the doctor came in and told me everything looked great and went awesome so he asked if id like to be discharged and we went from there. I got home took some pain meds and slept through the night. Wed I treid drinking the chicken broth and it didnt work to well so I have only been drinking my water. I have been up and running around since I got home and my advice is get your self determined! I have a goal in mind and no pain will let me slip away from my goal!

I was around 275 here, I am the one to the right -
Ok so I am 6 days away from my surgery date and I am dying of hunger, I never realized just how addicted to food I was! I am a food addict! I have become moody and mean towards everyone including my 1 year old, I feel bad because she doesnt understand why I am so angry she just knows im upset! It doesnt help that my husband is deployed and hasny called me in 5 days, which sparks a fire under my ass. I know in the long run the LapBand will change my life forever and im beyond excited for the new changes in my life! Sorry im bitching but my family isnt support of me getting the LapBand or supportive of my husband being gone!
