    2nd fill today

I had my second fill today too!!!!! I am also hoping it helps a bit because my first fill did nothing (which I expected) and I was eating too much, although I did not gain any weight, thank goodness!!!!! My first fill I had 3.5cc and today I got 1.5cc so I am at a total of 5cc. I have to do liquids today and sat and then mushie sunday and monday. Do you have to do anything like that after a fill?? Good Luck NJ!!!!!

Weight loss after 5 years post Lap Band surgery

I think you should go to your PCP so they can do a full workup on you. If you lost weight like this w/o the band w/o trying, that would be a red flag and your docotors would search for a reason. If you have been doing the same thing for years, maintaining your weight and then all of a sudden loose 20+ lbs, that is just not right. I am not trying to be an alarmist and Im sure your fine, but I think it would be smart to pursue this.... Good Luck!!!

    Rheumatoid Arthritis

Hi! congrats on starting the process! I know every situation is different BUT.... my mother has RA and her rheumatologist is ok with her having the lapband. He said she just has to plan her last tx exactly 4 weeks prior to the surgery date, so she wont be at too much of a risk with infection... she is on Orencia.... my mother does not take steroids though on a regular basis like yourself. It is a same day surgery, only takes about an hour or so, so I cant see you having to change your steoids although they may make you take a stress dose. I think that after you go to the information session, you should see your rhematologist again and tell him that you are serious about this procedure and make him explain to you why he is against it. He should be happy that you want to make the change and weight loss will help with less stress on your already aching joints! I wish you all the best of luck on your journey!!!!!!
  9. just wanted to say hello!!! I saw one of your posts and noticed that you had surgery at NYU. I too had my surgery there 5/31/11.... Hope your doing well!!!!

    Feeling Terrible

I had to walk A LOT to relive a bit of the gas pain. For me, it actually got worse on POD# 2 and 3. I was told to keep moving positions in bed so that the gas would eventually come out! It did help, but its just something that will pass (pun intended!!! LOL) Hang in there!!!
  15. thanks for the add!!!! my page is a work in progress! I dont know why I find this site complicated!!!! lol
