  1. Happy 58th Birthday pattigirl!

  2. My surgery was scheduled for June 30. I changed my mind 3 days ago. I am 56 yrs. old and my dr. sent me for all kinds of tests.Stress test, blood work-up. I've had 3 blood clots in one of my legs. The hemotologist warned me that I probably develope another one after surgery. That was enough to change my mind. Now, I am determined to loose weight on my own! I joined Weight Watchers, which, by the way, I've had luck with in the past. I am joining a gym. Good luck to everyone. And to myself!

    Best Weight-Loss Diets

I agree with Weight Watchers also. I have lost 90 lbs. on WW 20 yrs. ago. I kept it off for 10 yrs. Then I quite smoking and the weight started comming back on. I was scheduled for surgery on June 30. Been seeing all kinds of Drs. Having all kinds of tests done. I guess cause I'm 56 yrs. old, Dr. doesn't want to take any chances. Anyway, I have a history of getting blood clots in my leg. I saw a Hemotologist this week and she believes I would have a very high chance of getting another clot after surgery! I'm having a blood workup now and it will take 2-3 weeks for results. Honestly, I think this issue has changed my mind about the band! I postponed everything and I am determined to loose this weight on my own! If for nothing else, I'm having a good physical exam with all these tests. Perhaps in the future, the band will be an option again, but, for now, it's up to me.

    New Jersey Anyone?

Hi Jersey, I'm a Jersey Girl, too. I live in Arizona for the last year. I was born and raised in Jersey City. But lived in Franklin Park,Somerset Co. for 20 yrs.I am going through many tests and drs. appointments right now.Still not 100% sold on lapband. Probably 90%. My insurance won't cover unless a year with diabetes or health related issues. Will pay out of pocket if I have to, but would love to have ins. cover it or part. Does anyone know or have any ideas of how to get around the insurance issues? I have about 80 lbs. to loose. Please talk me into this!! Pattigirl
