  1. How are all the April 18th sleevers doing? I see no new posts and wanted to check on my fellow sleevers. I have lost 55 lbs.
  2. I was wondering if you can describe the pain you had with the infection. I am having pain in my tummy and not sure if it is normal. It hurts mainly when I stand for long periods of time or when I go fron standing to sitting and vice versa. It is a burning and pulling pain that feels better when pressure is applied. Thanks!

    Please help me!

I have stopped losing too and I am very frustrated also. I am on day 11 after surgery and lost 24 lbs. and have seen no loss for 4 days now. We have to keep doing what we are doing and try to stay positive. Hang in there it has to get better! I think it is because our body is in shock from net getting any food.

    Leaving on a jet plane....

Hi...the gas was awful for me too! I used the infant's Mylicon drops and they helped tremendously...who thought that gas could actually give you back pain...lol. I also walked alot and that helped to relieve the gas. Good luck after the first 5 days your gas should be alot better.
  5. Hi! You make alot of good points, but my doctor told me that you can stretch the sleeve. All of my research online also states that you can stretch it out again if you overeat or eat continuously.
  6. WOW....35 lbs. You are doing excellent! I hope I continue to lose well because I have not lost much at all in the last couple of days. I am happy that it has helped my diabetes though. Well, good luck on your weightloss journey and keep in contact with me sleeve sister...lol.
  7. I am new on here and so far I love it! Dr. Craig Chang performed my surgery in Victoria, Tx on 4/18/11. I am 9 days in and have lost almost 22 lbs.
  8. Thank you for your support! Good luck on your surgery and your weight loss journey as well!
  9. I was on an insulin pump for about 4 yrs. before my surgery, but I have not been on it since the surgery. I was taking about 35 units a day but it was the U-500 Regular insulin (5 times stronger than regular R insulin). I am now taking maybe 2 units a day. Of course I do not mind you asking questions that is what we are all here for! If I can help you through this process at all, just ask!!! I was so nervous before my surgery and I would love to help you any way I can. Once you get your surgery date it goes by quicker than you would think! My surgeon asked me to take my pod off before surgery, but after surgery my sugar shot up to 450. My advice to you would be to take extra pump supplies in case you need to put a pod in after surgery for a short while. I did not take extra supplies and I was 2 hours away from home. I had cotton mouth soooo bad and you cannot chug Water after your surgery...only ice chips and very few of those. It took them a long time to get my sugar down and I was miserable until they did. Now, hopefully I haven't talked your ear off....lol. Good luck and keep me posted with your surgery date.
  10. I see that you are diabetic, so am I. I am type 1 and have only had to take minimal insulin since surgery. Are you taking insulin? Thank you for the support and I will definitely keep everyone informed on my weight loss.
  11. I am an April 18th sleever as well. I am sorry to hear about your complications! Hang in ther hopefully it will get better for you. Until about 5 days after surgery I was wondering what the heck I had done to myself....lol. I am down almost 22 lbs. now and actually seeing the results has helped me. I feel fine now and am very happy that I decided to do the surgery.
