I'm down about 100 pounds now since being sleeved 6 months ago... I STILL have about 100 to go, but I'm already seeing a LOT more attention from the opposite sex. I've been on several dates, girls I meet are flirting with me, etc... You guys keep talking like people only like you for physical reasons when you get skinny, but really.. it's just that the weight is a barrier that prevents them from getting to know you. Once that barrier is down, then they're able to put the effort into getting to know you, and can actually appreciate your personality.

Has Anyone Ever Regretted Having Surgery? Be Honest?
Anakin Jay replied to Karen2012's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I regretted it the first week post op... by 3 week it was (and now 6 months later still is) the best thing I've ever done. only regret is not doing it sooner. -
Not Pregnant, But Have Morning Sickness, New Alarm Clock?
Anakin Jay replied to Reunitedjess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sounds like acid to me too. Prilosec is the *only* acid reducer that works for me... and it takes a few days to kick in. -
I was 415 when I started... and I have a friend who had the bypass... I can tell you this: The sleeve requires more work. Think of the sleeve as "I cannot GAIN weight" instead of "I will lose weight" You can very very easily cheat your sleeve to the point where you don't lose weight... I think GAINING weight would be incredibly difficult to do, but I could easily eat enough calories to maintain if I didn't watch myself. My friend with the bypass literally could not gain weight if she tried. Because if she eats fatty food it just goes right through her... with some serious side effects, so that might be a pro or a con. With the sleeve you're still going to have to count calories, work out, and have the will power to make the right choices. The only benefit you get from it is being physically unable to over indulge in the wrong choices that you may make. For me personally that's all I needed. I'm 325lbs now 6 months later, with lots of hard work, and good choices. So to me, the decision between the two comes down to this: Are you willing to put in extra work and lose slower in order to avoid the side effects of gastric bypass? If yes, then sleeve... if you've never been one to stick to a diet and are afraid you won't be committed enough to stick with it, gastric might be a better option.

Need Comparison From The Pros
Anakin Jay replied to CT Fats's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
at 4 months out, I can eat a 12 inch subway sub if it's just meat (not veggies).... but I'm retardedly stuffed. The few times I've gone to subway, I ate half a foot long, waited 3-4 hours then ate the other half. I have a feeling my stomach is longer than most people's though... pre-op I could eat an entire stuffed crust pizza by myself and not be stuffed, just be "satisfied"... I've eaten 3 subway subs in one sitting before. So to be super stuffed after eating 1 suits me just fine... i just have to be a little more disciplined than most on here until I lose the weight. -

This is pretty much exactly how I feel... When I'm skinny, I'm looking forward to riding roller coasters again, and going kayaking... walks in the park, going to the beach... going to Water parks... HAVING FUN. Why should I expect someone to overlook giving up everything that skinny people can do for fun just because I have an awesome personality?
-
lol... ok well apparently I care a lot less about clothes than most people do my bad.
-
ehh... that seems like a very defensive attitude. Lets be honest here... if you had your choice between an attractive person, and a non-attractive person (with everything else being the same) what would you pick? Do you always 100% completely ignore the looks of people and are PURELY attracted to people's personalities? I'm not saying it's a good thing... I wish it was different, but lets be real here... 95% of people out there are not going to take the time to get to know romantically you unless they're attracted to you initially. If you want to just mark 95% of the available singles off your list like that... then more power to you I suppose, but me personally, I'm excited about the opportunities I'm going to have to show more people how awesome I am on the inside... once my outside helps get my foot in the door, instead of causing the door to get slammed in my face

Is There Such A Thing As A Protein Pill?
Anakin Jay replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They make Protein shots, you can buy them at walmart.... they're usually between 25-30g protein (2-3x more than a protein shake) in 2-3oz of liquid (protein shakes are usually 8-12oz) they're more like a thicker red bull, as opposed to the protein shakes that try and taste like some kind of mutant milk.. bleh... and 2-3oz is enough to just gulp it and be done. these are the ones I get, and they're not bad: http://www.amazon.com/Body-Choice-Fruit-Punch-Protein/dp/B0007KS050/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1336655643&sr=8-9 -
this is what gas felt like to me... the left over gas from when they blew your stomach up like a balloon

Is This Normal? (Nausea)
Anakin Jay replied to Anakin Jay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes, but I forget to take them half the time... >< That's probably the problem. -
Will Your Sleeve Hold More Liquids Than Solid Food?
Anakin Jay replied to LTARLTON's topic in Food and Nutrition
3oz of tuna is all I can hold. If I add mayo, some of it slides out of my stomach and I can eat 5-6oz... if I drink while I eat, it pushes the food out of my stomach and I can eat 6-12oz. -
So I'm 3 months out, and about 2 weeks ago I started noticing a pattern... When I eat, roughly 2-3 hours later, I get some nausea... it's not anything debilitating, but it hurts enough to make me grab my stomach.. If I wait it out for 10 min. it goes away until I eat again, then 2-3 hours later it's back. It comes on *very* suddenly. If I eat a little, or drink A LOT right when I feel the nausea, it goes away almost instantly... otherwise I have to wait it out for 10 min. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue, or am I just weird?

Sleevers For Over A Year - Please Read
Anakin Jay replied to Minckle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
congrats! I'm only 3 months out, but I have zero regrets.. best thing I've ever done for myself. Also, just to give you an idea... I went to a mexican restaurant last week to Celebrate one of our work friends moving on to a new job.. I munched on a ton of chips and salsa... probably 1/4 of the bowl, ordered enchilada supreme which is 4 enchiladas, and ate 2 of them, and took the other 2 home for dinner. Not only did I feel 100% normal, but I'm also really enjoying having leftovers for dinner when I go out -
I don't know what size mine is, but I know I can eat more than most people because I'm taller (6'1) , and have a long chest (which means longer stomach).. I'm a little over 3 months out and can eat 2 hot dogs with buns. I feel super stuffed afterwards, but that's my limit. Do I wish I could only eat 1? Somedays... but to contrast, I would have to eat 6 or 7 hotdogs to get the same stuffed feeling pre-op.. (and I've done so many times).. and once I'm at goal, it's going to be nice to be able to enjoy 2 hotdogs on occasion. (2 seems normal to me... neither 1 nor 7 does ) and before I get yelled at for eating hotdogs, they were turkey dogs
