Good luck!! I have been trying different kinds of Protein drinks in preparation for surgery (still not scheduled). The ones I like best so far are the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. I have gotten the Chike brand as well, but they have more carbs than I really want it to have. I also tried some from the new Max Muscle store that opened up near me and they were pretty good as well.
Hang in there!! You can do it!!!

Thanks everyone! I know I will be able to do it, but just thinking about it makes me want to panic! I guess I hadn't taken into account the need to heal as part of that 6 weeks too. *sigh*
Thank you so much for the encouragement!!!

I just found out that once all my insurance is approved and they are ready to schedule me for surgery, I will have a 2 week pre-op liquid diet and then a 4 week post op liquid diet. I don't know if I can handle nothing but liquids for 6 weeks. It seems like most everyone else has about 4 weeks of liquid.
Has anyone else had to go through 6 weeks of liquids? And HOW did you do it? Yikes!
Thanks

Thanks ErinMarie!! I know that he will love me regardless of my size. I think it is just the nerves and everything else with impending surgery. Thank you!!!

I am still waiting for my surgery too, but I have been trying different ones to see which ones I like because I know I will be on a 6 week liquid diet (yum?).
I just go to the Vitamin store every week or so and try a few of the pre-mixed cans and plastic bottles they have. I am making a list of the ones I like and don't like. (I figure that the powders of the same brands will taste like the pre-mixed ones)
So far, I like Muscle Milk vanilla and Cake Batter; Oh Yeah banana and Cookies and Cream.
I just got a few bottles of Isopure which I can't wait to taste as they look more like a juice drink than the thick shakes.
Good luck on your Quest, both for Protein shakes and weightloss!

Thank you everyone! He has already said that he loves me no matter what weight I am. Even if he hadn't said that, it wouldn't effect my surgery. Getting healthy is my number 1 priority right now. I really appreciate all of your thoughts and advice!! Much luck to all of you too!!!

I am in the process of getting a lapband. My husband is a FA (fat admirer). I am worried that once I lose all the weight he won't be attracted to me anymore. He swears that it isn't just the physical attraction, but even more the mental attraction for him. Has anyone else dealt with this? Thanks for any advice.

Hi Teresa!!
I know there are some WLS support groups out of St Francis in Federal Way. I am going to start attending them next month (as I missed all of this month's groups). They might help, but I agree with Dave, check with your doctor, they might have ones already in place that you don't know about. Good luck!!!

I am in the process of getting approved for bariatric surgery. Woo Hoo! Of course, my Dr wants me to lose 31 pounds before the surgery, so I am on a high Protein, low carb diet. I am surprised that I am keeping to it very well. But I really could use some suggestions for Breakfast other than eggs. I like eggs, but really I need some kind of variety. (I usually have a Protein shake for lunch, but I don't think I can handle two a day) Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you!!!!

Hi! So this is my first post here. I have read many other people's stories and I can't tell you all how much they have helped me realize that I am definitely making the right decision! I had a preliminary consultation with my doctor and am now awaiting more tests and insurance approval. I am really excited to get everything going and start my new life. Thank you to everyone on the forum for being such honest sharers. You all ROCK!

Wow! My insurance would never pay for plastic surgery. I am on a 6 month wait for my band but I have already lost 35 pounds and the sagging is definitely evident. I do exercise 5 times a week, but I haven't been to a gym yet. I think that will have to be my next step or try to find a trainer or something. Problem is they are expensive. Good luck everyone on your weight loss!
