burning sensation post op day 3
losingwait replied to MrsPositive's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am having terrible pains that come quickly and go away quickly ( and then come back again). I am okay as long as I stay still but turning on my side, standing and sitting brings it on. I think that it is gas pain but I'm not sure. I have used the gas x strips with no success. It is really a burning sensation, not sure if it is gas, acid or what. I too am 3 days post op. I am drinking 40 oz mostly protein. Any ideas? -
Day 76: Crikey I was Fat.

How are you, mrs positive?I met you in the hallway walking our iv machines! Hope you're doing well. I am better than I thought I would be at this point thank goodness. Love to hear from you. -
I was extremely nervous starting about 4 days pre surgery (I came very close to canceling the whole thing), I am now starting day 3 post op. The first couple of days for me were a little rough but nothing like I had worked myself up over. I would suggest that at this point think only positive thoughts, don't over think the whole thing and put yourself in the hands of a higher power. You will get thru it and you'll be glad you did it, but nerves do get the best of us sometimes. I am up walking around, just took a shower and sipping sipping sipping. Every day gets better. I would make sure you drink LOTS of fluids starting two days before so you'll be well hydrated on surgery day. And stick to your pre op diet. You're gonna do great, think positive, take some deep breaths!!

Surgery Tomorrow!!!
losingwait replied to Yorkie Fan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, fellow June 14 sleevers! I am a nervous wreck all day but starting to settle down some. I should have asked for Xanax, I could use it today. Best of luck to both of you, I'm sure we will all do fine. We just gotta get through the first two weeks I've heard and it gets better. -
Hi, everybody! I just met with the dietician today and am now a little apprehensive about my upcoming sleeve surgery. I was told by others that I could have the occasional cookie or sweet thing and now my dietician is telling me I won't be able to without getting sick I was told by others that I could pretty much eat what I want just in very small portions (at least after 90 days or so). Also, will I be able to go out with my friends and have a couple glasses of wine?? I 'm worried about my nights out with the girls!

Having surgery Monday and I'm terrified
losingwait replied to USMCwifeandTEACHER's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, ej: I too am having surgery on the 14th and I am scared to death. I have totally gone between gung-ho and heck no! I hope that I can resolve my fears before the big day. Maybe we can compare notes!?? -
Hi, Sunnyd: Thanks for your reply, it is encouraging. It is not that I want to overindulge but to be told NEVER by the nutritionist was a little startling and started making me question my decision. My surgery is on Tuesday and I am getting so nervous! I guess that's normal???!!!

Thanks, SK! By the way, you are doing great! That's a big weight loss for only 3 months out. I hope I can even come close. My surgery is next week. BTW, how do you like Dr. Nick?

Hi, Tiff: Thanks for the reply. I am encouraged! I don't mind giving up but total abstinence forever is tough to hear. I think you are right about the scare tactic piece. Since yesterday, I have talked myself out of backing out of my surgery on Tuesday although I am still VERY nervous!! I am looking forward to a couple of weeks from now! By the way, congrats! You look fabulous. 145 lb loss is just amazing!
