I am not sure if you like soup or like to cook but I actually got this idea from a fellow bandster on the food forum. I boiled chicken (to give it flavor, even added some broth too it, the condensed kind) onion, celery, cauliflower, potatoes, acorn and butternut squash cut into very small pieces. Boil slowly until veggies are so tender they mush in mouth without having to really chew. This is a real savory flavored soup. If you want you can also try using the broth that chicken boiled in add chicken and some broth to food chopper, blender, whatever you have to puree chicken and add this to the soup and the more it cooks the better is it. I am a very spicy, savory eater and got sooooo tired of sweet tasting liquid crap,, huhmm excuse me, as you can see reliving pure liquid stage is already making me cranky again. This soup has lots of flavor, protein and vitamins with substance, consistency and I have been eating this for days now and has been much easier than just eating pureed chicken. I too ate pureed chicken by itself and thought i was going to die. I thought I was having a heart attack it hurt so bad.

Shopping for a Dr. in Mexico
bandqueen replied to Dakota1984's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Dakota, Just wanted to let you know that I was recently banded on January 16, 2007 in Monterrey Mexico by Dr. de la Garza. Awesome experience loved him and the hospital. Patient coordinator was just great. We got into Mexico just in time before January 23 deadline when everyone will need passports to get into Mexico instead of just Birth certificates. I guess its no big deal to all those who travel and already have passports. Wishing you all the best on your journey. -
please add me to list of january bandsters when you get the chance I was January 16, 2007 Thanks so much.

Hi Gretchens4! I too had all the discomforts of being overweight and barely getting done what needed to be done. I used to be a very "active" overweight person but just kept putting on the pounds and I would wake up some mornings with my back hurting so bad i couldnt pick the baby up and felt horrible. I was banded on the 16th in Mexico not quite a week but already feeling a bit better. Lost 6 pounds and very excited to keep losing. Best to you and keep in touch.

Hi I am newly banded. Just banded on January 16, 2007 in Mexico by Dr. de la Garza. It was a great experience going through him I am just learning to adapt to this stage of liquid eating and its difficult sometimes. I haVe 3 children who all need to eat and its so tempting to want to eat something solid when your still on liquids. My next step is finding someone here in Florida that I want to do my fill. I live in north Florida so if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Aside from the smells of solid foods everyone else is eating and the itching from my incisions, so far all is well. newly banded in mexico
bandqueen replied to bandqueen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't know what I would do without having cobanders to talk with especially ones that I have just had bands placed at the same time as myself. Trying to talk to family members and friends is frustating sometimes they aren't going through this and every sip of liquid I put into my mouth is being questioned. I know they only mean well but it is frustating. As far as joining the january bandsters, hope i'm doing the right thing. I'm not sure if I'm navigating this site like I should. I know it's not rocket science but I think my nerves are just a little frayed right now with everything. -
Hi January bandsters! Just banded in Mexico on the 16th. Lost 6 pounds so far, but hey who wouldnt on a liquid diet. So far all is well as to be expected. Just trying to adjust. I was banded by Dr. de la Garza in Monterrey.

Why do I have PAIN in my left side? Do You?
bandqueen replied to roxy123's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello, I was very excited to find you and that you had been banded recently by de la Garza. I was just banded by him on Jan 16th. I am experiencing pain in my left side as well but this is normal for the stage I am in however, I am curious as to why you are having pain again and was concerned. I hope I will be able to keep conversating with you since I am only a couple "footsteps" behind you and we had the same dr. I hope all is well with you and hope that you wont mind answering any of my questions that I may have in the future. Such as, did you really stay pure liquid diet for 2 weeks or did you try pureed foods a little in between weeks 1 and 2. -
Scheduled for Tuesday the 23rd.
bandqueen replied to Nella337's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Nella, I was just banded last Tuesday in Mexico. I had the jitters too but more excited about the outcome. I had very little pain at all and the operation itself was a breeze to my surprise. I had never had any surgeries at all in my life and I had no problems with gas at all.. Biggest problem is adjusting to an all liquid diet during this stage. Wish you all the best of luck.
