    Returning to work

I had the surgery on Wednesday and went back to work the following Thursday. No pain, just difficulty in figuring out how to eat while working...
  2. I am almost three weeks post surgery and been given the clear to eat anything that I can chew to the consistency of cottage cheese (that is ACTUALLY what the document said). So my question is this - how is it that I can eat 4 spoonfuls of cottage cheese and feel painfully full, but eat like ten bites of noodles (bad idea, I know) and I don't feel full at all? That doesn't make sense to me. Is it because noodles are less dense? I am worried that I have stretched my stomach out already - HELP!! I mistakenly ate 4-5 too many bites of Soup the other day and was in soo much pain - I am really stressing that I am damaging my stomach because of this learning curve. Jen

    2 oz, really???

Thank you! My doctor has given me very little guidance so I feel like I'm flying blind. I see my nutritionist for the first time on Thursday - I'll be bringing a looong list of questions. If I hadn't found this forum I'd be going crazy!

    Scale- friend or foe?

I try REALLY hard to weigh myself once a week, but at just two weeks post op I "cheat" all the time. Sometimes it is discouraging but even when the scale isnt moving I can tell I am getting smaller. So I have to tell myself that is what matters more. I can see my stomach and boobs shrinking so I know somehow I am losing even if it hasn't shown up on the scale
  5. Okay - I have now lost 3 more pounds!! After posting I REALLY worked on upping my fluids and it seems to have stopped the diarrhea and I am now losing a little bit at a time. I am sooo tired of shakes but I am feeling good!
  6. Hi all, I had my sleeve done on June 1st. I went into the hospital at 239 and came out two days later at 230 and have lost NOTHING since. I hover back and forth between 231 and 230. Stalling so soon after surgery I am really starting to worry it didn't work!! I am eating very little, mainly because I have had problems with diarrhea - so right now I am probably only getting 30 grams of Protein a day. HELP! Is this normal?? I am trying to get my fluids and protein in slowly, but right now my main concern is that I am consumming almost nothing and the scale isn't budging. Jen
  7. Thank you soooo much! You have no idea how much it help and support you have provided! It is so great to hear that what I am going through is normal. Lynda, where do you get the Unjury Chicken Soup protein powder?? I only have sweet powders and I have to admit, I am getting tired of them. When you changed to soy, did you also change your protein powder? I have been using a whey powder.
  8. Hello! I was sleeved on June 1st - I had lost about 9 before the surgery (two weeks of shakes) and once I got home I was down to 17 pounds lossed. That seems like a REALLY big jump for in the hospital and then nothing since. I have been at the same weight for 5 days. I am new at this, but I am panicking it didn't work! How fast is the weight going to come off in the beginning? It seems like for some people 30 pounds in two weeks is normal but for others 30 pounds takes two months... Is staying the same weight for several days just after surgery normal??

    Sleeved 6/1/2011

That is so funny - my husband JUST threatened to hide the scale and I think I am going to have to let him. I can't resist. I can tell my clothes are fitting differently and I am obviously eating far less, I am just anxious. I am on the lower side I guess, given that I only have a little bit more than 100 to lose - so if the more you need to lose the faster you lose is true, that makes sense. Congrats on your loss!!
  10. one week since surgery!
