Yeah, I'm really not interested in suing if I can avoid it. I was looking fo something different anyway. I'm just pissed I can't put "currently employed" on my applications. Sigh....

welp. Just as I suspected kids. Yesterday I was "laid off, indefinitely" pretty convenient that it happens right after I ask about PTO for surgery... Anyone know of anyone hiring Administrative Assistants in the Topeka, Kansas area??? I could really use the connection right about now...

GIRL. Im pretty sure we are destined to be best friends. You are obviously a woman after my own heart. I couldnt agree/relate with you more on EVERYTHING YOU SAID! I have tasted what it was like to get attention from men other than my loving husband and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! i cant wait to get back to that... It reflects in my marriage... I want my husband to remember what it was like to have a wife he could be proud of (not that he isnt now) but when met i was much smaller and i was quite a catch! (just ask me lmao) I want to feel like that again... I hope that doesnt sound TOO vain, but I wont feel too horrible if it does...lol

So the thought that this is actually surgery and not something that I should be taking lightly is starting to settle in. I was reading a thread awhile back and some lady had started talking about saying her "i love you"s to her family before she got put to sleep for her surgery. That got me thinking about my daughter... Im 24 years old with a 2 year old daughter. What if this is the last time I saw her? Being a young mother has matured me faster than I would like to admit, and the thought that surgery is very serious keeps creeping into my mind. Does anyone else thing about these things? Someone please calm my nerves!!! Thanks, Caitlyn

Personally I love the fact that my husband is just there to listen to me complain.. but it would really help me if he would diet with me. Having a bunch of junk in the house that he can still eat and doesnt hesitate eating in front of me would help me a lot. It would mean that he is willing to put himself in my shoes. It wouldnt kill him to lose a little weight and be healthy either. But the fact that he is willing to get healthy with me will help us grow together as a couple and that is one more thing that we will have in common. AND THINK OF THE MONEY WE WILL SAVE ON FOOD! lol

Hello!! I have Empire BCBS PPO here in Kansas and I havent submitted my things yet, but my nurse at the hospital does all of the submittals for me. From what I have heard Empire has a quick turn around time. Good luck and let me know what you find out!!

It went great!! My surgeon is AMAZING! I love her! (Dr. Sidney Hu) She was so great about all the questions that I had and had an amazing personality. She was just great all together.

phew! I finally got ahold of someone! I AM supposed to be at the Tallgrass building NOT the hospital...lol I sure dodged a bullet there.... Thanks guys!

At first my husband wasnt supportive. If you can, educate him. He thought that it was cheating until I got him to go with me to a free seminar that my hospital hosts and he heard the surgeon there talking about how obesity is a disease and all of the facts that went with it. Now he supports me 100% and if he has any questions he has a way to ask. He is probably more afraid that something could happen to you than he just doesnt want you to do it. Keep on him! Make him listen!

Please trust me when I say, HE was DEFINITELY NOT kidding! Im finding myself litterally holding back a giggle at the thought of him "kidding." He's not the type. LOL

Our company is fairly small. On a good day that no one calls in we may have around 45-50 employees and that is spread out between 4 warehouses and an office. I really like my job and the people that I work with, my boss is just less than tactful. I think that I might be able to "borrow" my PTO so that I can use it now. I get paid a week behind, so even if I got my PTO and quit the day I was supposed to be back they could always just keep my paycheck and get their money out of me. right?

i googled FMLA and I dont qualify. i have been with my company 10 months and you have to be employed 12. Go figure. By the time I have my surgery I will have been here 11 months instead of the required 12... CRAP!

I work from 8-5 M-F and on Monday I left at 3 so that I could go to my psych eval at 3:45. The request I turned in today is for Tuesday and I told him I would be back at work by NOON. Then I told him I would have to take one week off for recovery time. THATS IT! And starting on August 9th I will have 40 hours vacation time! but of course my surgery will be one month early in July. Im not familiar with FMLA.... what is it?

How did you know as young people that this was going to be the right decision for you? I started looking into it about 2 years ago when I gained 60lbs in a year... i just knew there wasnt going to be another option for me... you?
