I am a 53 year old grandmother of 17 who is raising three of my grandkids.... I was the victim of a home invasion and sexual attack at age 18, and of other unwanted sexual advances multiple times before I turned 18, the first time at age 12.  I learned very young that to be thin and pretty was "bad".  So for the last however many years, I have hidden in my fat.  No more.  I have put my past behind me and moved on and I waited so long that my arthritis, menopause and thyroid conditions became huge roadblocks in my weight loss journey. 
I am extremely knowledgeable in the insurance arena and after two insurances turned me down, decided that I would pay for the surgery on my own.  I'll be paying for four years, but thankful that I am able to.  I had my surgery 5/31/11 and have lost a total of 20 pounds as of today (6/10/11) including my pre surgery weight loss.
For fun I play with my grandkids, ride my Harley (which I'll be doing more with the weight loss) and work too much.  I love sports, camping, fishing and pretty much anything outside.
