  1. I have not had my first fill yet. It is scheduled for Oct 25th. I have been eating a lot of Sugar Free Popsicles (15 calories per popsicle) and sugar free jello. I will sometimes have Carbmaster yogurt. The popsicles take off the edge of wanting something sweet. I have lost 26 lbs since I started my pre-op diet and post surgery on Sept 1st. I just don't want to cheat as I know I will make more excuses down the road and end up where I was before.

    QUIT POT?

Pot can be detected in your system for 30 days. If you are seriously wanting to get healthy, I suggest that you discontinue all forms of tobacco. It slows the healing process and obviously is not good for you.

    Need some encouragement

I was just banded on September 1st, so I am very new at this. While I was on my pre-op diet, my nurse said I could eat Sugar Free Popsicles. I found some at the store which are 15 calories and they have taken off the edge. I lost 9 lbs before surgery and I have lost 8 since. I will soon start soft foods, but for now in between meals I love those popsicles.
  4. I agree with you. I thought they might have found something slightly abnormal on the stress test. I would just go ahead with your surgery.
  5. I don't think they give you blood thinners. They want you off of that prior to surgery because of the increase of bleeding. But I could be wrong. My doctor told me to be off of aspirin and blood thinners 2 weeks prior to surgery.
  6. The reason he is doing a heart cath is for pre-op clearance. If the Stress Test show any slightly abnormality they will furthur test as the anesthesiologist was to be assured that you will be okay and there is no heart problems. When you are overweight the risk of heart problems increases. This is for your safety. Chances are you are okay, but I guarantee they do not take any chances when they do surgery.

    Waiting on approval

My doctor's appointment was July 12th and I was finally approved today. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 1st. I was sure they were going to reject me since it took so long and I was very discouraged. So hang in there.
  8. I am researching about hiatal hernia. I am planning on having the lap band surgery and have not seen my surgeon yet. I have a Hiatal hernia. Will that interfere with the lap band surgery?
