Hi All, I'm trying to get back on track. I had lost about 93 pounds and then gained about 15 pounds back over a couple of years. I overcame my fear of judgement at gaining and went back to dr. I didn't know if I needed a fill because I was having night coughs. He added .25cc and suggested that I move my meds and vitamins to morning. I take a multi-vitamin, vitamin C and fiber tablets. I think the fiber tablets were causing the night coughs. Since I've moved them to morning, I've slept much better. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this. Maybe I shouldn't be taking fiber tablets at all.

I've lived through that. I had the dr. take out about .25cc and it made a world of difference for me.

I was also banded in 2008 and lost then stalled and gained a little. I went back and it was painful to be weighed and held accountable but it was also rejuvenating. He added a .25cc and got me started on my fitness pal to keep track of calories (much easier than when we had to carry a book and look things up). I hope that with help and support I'll be at goal weight by 5th anniversary in September. You are not alone.

I can drink wine or a beer very slowly and remember to keep track of calories. They add up quickly and no real nutritional value. But for me, this journey is about being involved in life and not being a part so once and a while works for me.

Hello Sept. 2008 Band Mates: I'm getting back on track. I lost 90 pounds in the first year and then stalled and yo-yo'd. I thought my band was loose but was having some night coughs. Went to Dr. and he added .25cc and suggested that I move any meds and vitamins to morning. I think the vitamins were the problem with the night coughs. He also wanted me to keep track of calories which is a big trigger for me because it feels like dieting and I can get obsessive about writing things down. The nurse suggested the My Fitness Pal app for my phone and it's been wonderful. I can scan the bar codes on products and it gives me all the nutritional information. I'm so glad it's easier than the old days. I've been fairly faithful for a week which is a bit of a miracle and I've lost 7 pounds. I really feel like I'm on track again and eating like I did when I first had the band. Moving the meds to morning has helped. I'm still hoping to get to my goal weight by the 5 year anniversary of band.

Just When You Think You've Got The Band All Figured Out......
see.jane.read replied to ♕ajtexas♕'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sometimes that happens to me, eating usually safe foods and then it all comes back, because I haven't drank my usual amount of water. I have to work at getting 64 oz. everyday and that seems to help me. -
This sounds exactly like what I'm going through right now. I haven't had a fill since January and it was just .25cc but for the last month I've had reflux almost every night. I take prescription reflux meds in the morning. I think I'm going to switch that to evening. That's the only reflux med I take. I don't want to get an unfill but this is weird. It's such a relief to hear that other people go through the same thing. Thanks.

Hello. I've been banded for almost 4 years and have lost 95 pounds, give or take a few. I had a fill in January and was very restricted for about 2 weeks. Since then, the band has worked like I had hoped. I would eat a little and be full. I had to be careful, small bites, chew, chew, chew. However, for about a month, I drink my usual 12 oz protein shake in the morning and coffee, yogurt for lunch, 48 oz. of water throughout the day and then eat and drink whatever I'm hungry for, for dinner. The problem is that the evening eating is getting more and more. It seems like I can eat a lot some times and then other times things just get stuck. I think getting enough water has a lot to do with it but I'm scheduled to see my doctor in a couple of weeks and I'm not sure if I need a fill or not. I don't weigh myself a lot but I think I've lost about 5 pounds since January. I'd like to lose another 15. Any suggestions???? Thanks

Eating In Evening, Not In Morning
see.jane.read replied to see.jane.read's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks gang. I think there is something to the eating sliders during the day. I'm going to try to add a couple of solids during the day and see if that helps. I'm also coughing/choking at night and sometimes coughing up liquids and evening meds. It really burns my throat and makes it sore in the morning. I'm going to start taking meds earlier in evening. -
Sounds interesting. Worth a try. thanks.

Hello, I've ben banded since September of 2008. I've been down and up and hopefully headed back down again. I would really like to be in the "normal body weight" range once in my life and live there a while. My family is supportive most of the time but they had when my band b***h slaps me even when I deserve it. That's it for now.

never know when I can keep something down

I'm glad that I found this thread. I like my band tight also. I've had it loosened for stressful occasions (wedding duties, graduation hostess) but always gain a little weight and I just hate the dieting/exercise crap. My doctor has scolded me for making my band do all the work but that's why I got it. I was tired of doing all the work and needed support. I'm in a bit of a mess right now because of not chewing my salad properly so my band is "bitchslapping" me also. Love that term. It really makes me feel like I'm in a partnership. I do the soup also. My dietician says to eat a little protein before the soup but I want to relax and enjoy the company. -
