It doesn't hurt---- it is just strange feeling as the bad fills with water.

I only told 2 or 3 people about my surgery because I didn't want to hear from the "experts" on what I should do!!! Do it for you and eating off a bread and butter plate is actually a good way to get prepared for after surgery!!!

Finding out how much water is in your band is very important. My band holds 10cc's and I have 8.4 cc's in it right now. It took 6 fills to get there and my weightloss has been slow but steady. Just remember not drink while you eat and stay away from all the foods that you know you shouldn't have. I know it hard, believe me I know it's hard. I found out that if I cut out snacking and increased my water consumption between meals I lost more weight. Good luck!!!!! -

You need to chew as good as possible because food can get stuck as it leaves the stomach and passes thru the band. That is a horrible feeling!!!

What's The Main Reason Why Some Peoples Bands Slip?
Esposito37 replied to litl1997's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Excessive vomiting and over eating are some of the main causes. -
Number three is said to be the "life changer" around my doctors office and it was for me. The first two I felt somewhat restricted but #3 changed everything!!! My doctor makes us wait 4 weeks between fills and and in order to continue to get fills we must be part of a support group and we are required to particpate in on-going education through the staff nutrionist. If we do not comply we do not get any more fills!!!! Do not get discouraged!!!! I have lost 30 lbs since my surgery in February and each month my weight loss increases as the number of fills increases.

Don't give up!!! First, maybe you need to find a better doctor or at least one that can better understand your position. Second, how can you drink right before, during, or right after you eat? If I even attempt to drink I am sooooo sick!!!! Are you sure your band if full enough? I had surgery in Feb and I am getting ready to have my 4th fill. I have lost almost 30lbs and I rarely throw up. Is your band too big? The bands come in several sizes and if it was too big to start no matter how many fills you have done it will never be tight enough. I love my doctor and everyone in his office. Everyone in office has the surgery or is getting ready to have the surgery. I look to them for support and guidance. I think that may be very helpful in your situation. You are right in that no one is perfect and if we had all the answers we would not have needed to have the surgery in the first place!!!!! Hang in there girl and NEVER give up hope!!!! -

Don't freak out!!! I had surgery in Feb and I rarely throw up! It happens for some of us when we eat to fast or try and drink while having a meal. I eat very slow and chew, chew, chew!!! I stay away from breads, pasta, and rice and have no problems!!! Take it slow and follow your doctors orders and all will be fine!!! Good luck!!! -

I have been very quite about my surgery with both friends and co-workers. I can't stand to hear the comments about doing it the "old fashioned" way. I made the best decision for me and I am proud of my decision!!! Let your haters be your motivators!!!!
