I have read postings where banders are eating regular bread. I was told to only eat whole wheat but would love a slice of sour dough at some point. Is this prohibitied? Has anyone had problems eating bread other than whole wheat?

I am only in week 3 and the puree foods are not working for me. I cannot bare the thought of eating one more thing pureed. I am pre-occupied about food all day long. How do I know if this is real hunger or just more pyschological? How can I get re-focused and back on track?

I was only recently banded and I wondered what would cause the band slippage? I am on week 3 and I have not been able to just eat puree foods. I have been eating, chewing really well, but I seem to be hungry all the time. I am not sure if it is realy hunger or I am just pre-occupied with the thoughts of eating.

[i am 56, 57 in Dec and was banded on June 3rd. Today is day 5 post-op and I am doing very well except for numbness above right knee and upper leg. Increases during sleep, lots of tingling needles, etc. Calf muscles in both legs are sore but improving. Numbness and calf muscles thing began on day 2 of post-op and I have read in forums that this is not uncommon and will go away in few days/weeks. Waiting on the swelling to diminish and incisions to heal as quickly as possible. Considering everything, I am glad I choose the band and am looking forward to this journey and getting to be where I am the healthiest as possible. -

I was banded on June 3rd. Today is day 5 of post-op and I am doing very well except for numbness above my right knee and into upper leg area that begin on day 2. Both calf muscles are also tender. I have been walking as much as possible, really doing well with everything. Waiting on swelling to diminish and incisions to heal. Have a super day all. -
Yes, I have been walking everyday. It is so odd, even though it is there all day long, the numbness kicks up in high gear when I am sleeping. I am at day 5 and the last two nights I have been able to sleep on boh of my sides for a little while. I am a side sleeper and I am thankful that this will not be an issue. I have not spent any time in bed really, I have been able to relax in a recliner for most of the op day and for periods of time every day thereafter when I am not busy doing something or going somewhere. I am doing extremely well, waiting for the swelling to diminish and incisions to heal. Looking forward to eating something on Friday other than Jello, etc. Thanks for responding and have a super day.

Today is my 4th day post surgery and I feeling so much better. Breathing was difficult for first 3 days; felt like my sides had been used for punching bags or something, Incisions are feeling better today as well. What is causing me concern is the numbness in my right knee and upper leg and calf muscles in both legs. I am so thankful for this forum because I did find other posts that the leg numbness should go away from a few days to weeks – a little scary. Thanks everyone for sharing, it is very much appreciated.
