Dr. Benavides in Richardson at True Results Clinic...He is fabulous!! I have heard others talk about him too and it's all good!! One of the first doctors to do Lap Band. He repaired my hernia too, they said they would send that part to the insurance and if they paid great, if they didn't not to worry about it. Great follow up...1 year after banding. Good Luck!!

Today I seem to be feeling much better. Still taking it easy, but I did get some laundry started!! Woo Hoo!! Now maybe I'll have clean, comfortable clothes to wear. Pain is not so prominent!! Still sore, but much better. Slept better, I'm sure that helped a lot!! It is good to read everybody's experiences on here so that you kind of know what to expect. I hope everyone has a great and restful day!!

I went with True Results in Richardson..Dr. Benavides..I have been very pleased so far. My insurance won't cover it no matter what, so we are paying. They have been wonderful and got me right in. I teach so I wanted to wait for June so I didn't have to worry about a sub and all. I went for a consultation visit on May 13th and had surgery on June 8th. They would have done it sooner except I wanted to wait for summer. So far I am very pleased. If the Houston clinic is anything like the Richardson, I think you will be very pleased. -

I can have caffeine, they say no carbonated drinks because of the bubbles and calories. I haven't had a soda in a little over a week and not really craving one...so I'm going to try to stay away from them. They did say, if you just have to have one to pour it over ice to take away some of the bubbles. -

Good Luck tomorrow. I had mine done last Wednesday. Doing well, just tired and still a litlle sore. Hope everything goes well. -
Thanks for all of your advice...I will not try to rush it. I don't have 4 kids to keep up with...my 4 are grown, thank goodness. Hang in there and try to get them to help you!! I know that is easier said than done sometimes. Looking forward to energy in the next couple of weeks!!

I am 4 days post surgery. I have NO energy...I know that I didn't have a lot before the surgery because of the weight, but I had more than this. I am walking around the house as much as I can. I am drinking my Protein Shakes, lots of Water, some tea. I have eaten some yogurt, applesauce, and broth. All of which is on my instructions. I would like to be doing some normal things, Am I rushing it ? Any advice is welcome. I know I am still on the liquid diet and that is fine, but I want to be able to do more. I really don't see how people go back to work at this stage...I am a teacher, so thankfully, I have the summer to recover and get used to my new lifestyle. I can't get the ticker tracker to show up on here!!

This is good news...now I know what I have to look forward to. My first fill is on July 5th. He did put a little saline in my band at the time of surgery so hopefully that will chase away the hungries!! Still feeling a little bloated, but hopefully that will pass. I know I need to walk more... I am so happy for you, keep me posted and I will do the same!!

Congratulations to you Tim!! Would love to see pics of the old and new you. I was just banded on the 8th of June (2 days ago). The shakes they had me on were pretty good...I went through True Results. After the surgery, they told be to do the Atkins or EAS shakes. I am doing the Atkins and they are not bad, kind of like a thick chocolate shake. I know you are probably past that now, but for someone who is not you might try the Atkins shakes. It is encouraging to hear how much you have lost, I can't wait to be there too!! Congrats again!!

I'm not sure where you are located, but True Results is doing them for $9,900. I just had mine done 2 days ago. So far everything is fine. No hunger, but still recovering from the surgery. True Results is great, my doctor was Dr. Benavides and he comes highly recommended. They give you a full year of aftercare, which I thought was great! All the fills needed and support too. You might check into it. They also accept Care Credit and have an in house financing. Let me know what you decide.

Congratulations...good to hear you are doing so well. I was banded 2 days ago...Will being tired go away?? I'll walk around for a little while, then when I sit down I go to sleep. It's frustrating. Having my first cup of coffee though and it tastes really good.
