Hey Erin...........thanks so much for your concern sweetie . And to answer your question in regards to the BMs, I have had them since the day following surgery. I am feeling 93% better today, gas pain is minimal now (LAWD have mercy that was an experience). My only complaint is the lack of energy, I mean its ridiculous, is it just me?

I was banded on 8/11 and I am having problems getting my liquids in, I know I am nowhere near what I suppose to be, but after few sips it makes my gas worse and then I feel this pressure like in my upper abdomen. It's starting to frustrate me!!!

I am like you Stacie I get discouraged very fast. I'm feeling better today, but I am still not getting in all protein and liquids. I keep having all these negative thoughts. I have not weighed myself, I am to afraid!!

Walking (I have been moving around since the day of surgery) and gas x strips are not working for me. To not feel the pain I am taking the Lortab (which I don't want to do). I find myself asking why did I do this......................?!?!?!

LAWD.............I cant wait for my gas to pass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was banded on 8/11 and would like to join the challenge. My start has not been a good as I would have liked because I am not getting in nearly as much liquid as I should because of gas pain/pressure. But my challenge to myself will be 15lbs lost...............I think that a realistic goal?!?!?!

Hi, I am Yvette and was banded on August 11th, my starting weight (lifetime highest) was 293 and day of surgery 287. I'm 31 yrs old and will be 32 next month. Currently in a size 22/24. The gas pain is getting the best of me. I am having a hard time getting my liquids in due to the gas pain/pressure, seems drinking only makes it worse. I'm a single parent with 2 children.

OMG............I had my surgery on the 11th and then fine that day. But the next day until this very moment the gas is kicking my a$$. Walking and gas x is not helping. I have to take my prescribed medicine to make it through the day for this pain. I have no problem with moving it.....just.......the........freaking..........gas!! I don't know how much more of this I can take.

Today was a day full of gas discomfort, walking and gas X not helping. To not feel the pain I have taken the liquid pain meds prescribed by doctor, but I am still walking hoping that the gas will pass. Other then this no other problems........ no incision pains and keeping clear liquids down.

I just had surgery today and my surgeon prescribed me a large liquid bottle of pain meds with an additional refill, however I doubt if I will need the refill and probably on a small amount of the one I have now. So far pain is not bad.

I'M BANDED..................I went to hospital at 10:00am and surgery started at 11:11am. When I was in the OR I was so nervous that a few tears fell, but the last thing I remember was the scrub tech rubbinbg my shoulder and telling me everything was going to be ok, and that she also had the lapband in April and has lost 60lbs, that was the last thing I remember. Next I keep hearing my recovery nurse and my mom saying I need to wake up, I would say 1 word and drift back off (LOL). I went to take an UGI (contrast horrible), waited for those results, and then drank 30cc of water. After that I was released I don't have a time stamp for all that, but I made to my home at 4:46pm. I have little pain, no gas or shoulder pain so far. I have driven (I know I shouldn't have), gone to store, and I'm home alone with by two boys. Overall, thus far pretty good experience........I will let ya'll know how I feel tomorrow. I'm open for any questions and advice.

It is now 1:19am central time which means it offical Wednesday 8/10/11, which means I will be banded on tomorrow. I have already asked what have I gotten myself into and have not had surgery. WOW.......OMG........

Ok im confused I want to drink apple juice on my clear liquid diet following my surgery on Thursday. But I'm confused on what apple juice I should buy. The instruction says clear liquid and no sugar drinks, I picked up the apple juice that says no sugar added but it has like 26 grams of sugar. What kind did you purchase?

Whew...........went to pre-op appt with surgeron yesterday and it showed an astonishing 5lbs loss from my intitial consult. Nurse said "good girl" as I stepped of the scale, I was terrified that it was going to show a gain.

Getting banded on Thursday (8/11)................EMOTIONAL OVERLOAD!!

My surgeon does not require liquid diet either..........I don't know if thats a good or bad thing?!?! And my BMI is 48.

Ok I tried my very first protein drink!!! It wasn't that bad, but in no means did I consider it to be good. I immediately gargled with listerine following, the after taste was the worst part. It would be so great if protein came in a injection or pill form......LOL!!

Yes it was the Isopure RTD. On the packet info given the bariatric coordinator its says not to drink slim fast, boost, and carnation instant breakfast for protein supplement. I can already tell that this is going to be a challenge for me!!!!!

Fruit bars are in the frozen dessert section. Making your own sounds like a good idea.

Although I have insurance approval already.............I thought that was very nice of you to post this information. Had I been self pay I would have found this info beneficial. Thank you for your assistance for others.

I will be banded on next Thursday, 8/11 and I am trying to buy all of my things I might need. Please don't laugh or talk badly about me but are sugar-free popsicles the same as sugar-free fruit bars, because thats all I saw in the store today?!?! LOL.
