  1. How has loss of 100 pounds changed my life? Here are just a few off top of my head.....

    • I can go out in public and not be embarrassed.
    • I can wear bluejeans comfortably.
    • I can fit into booths at resteraunts and movie theaters without problems.
    • My legs don't rub together catching my pants on fire....:nervous
    • My nieces and nephews can sit on my lap, I never had one before.
    • I have more confidence in myself to get up in front of crowds now.

Wow! You look fantastic! I am ready for the challenge ahead....you are an inspiration! Thanks!
    • I can wear a seatbelt in the vehicle now (before it would not fit)
    • I don't suffer from severe depression anymore.
    • I have energy to exercise and do more outdoors things with my husband.
    • I can shop for clothes in my hometown instead of ordering everything from plus size catalogs.
    • The JOY I get if I pass someone I know who has not seen me in a long time and they don't recognize that it is me!!! :clap2:
    • My favorite...My husband tells everyong he got a new wife and did not even have to get a divorce.:kiss2:

See attached photo of how it looks.....

  2. Okay, so here is my update...... FEELING SOOO MUCH BETTER! Im down 15.2 lbs in one week! 7 days ago this very moment I was on the Operation Table and today, my stomach muscles have finally gotten better. I can sit up without pain now. The shoulder pain has gone way down still there at times but not at all like it was a few days ago. I got to go to mushies yesterday. I never thought a 1/4 cup of refied Beans diluted would taste so good. Surprisingly 1/4 was just enough food. Unlike before where I would get a can of Beans add cheese and dip chips unil the can was gone! I am looking so forward to this new step in my life. FEELS SO GOOD TO BE A BANDSTER!

Way to go Mindy! Nice to know there's light at thr end of the tunnel. Keep up the good work, and keep us informed.

  3. My surgery is scheduled for June 27th. I also am soooo excited. I am self -paying after going through the long drawn out process five years ago only to ne turned down by my insurance company. I wish I would have do e it back then! I'm so excited that I started my liquid diet two weeks before the doctor requires. I think I really wanted to see if I could actually do it! I've lost 6 pounds so far, but have such a long way to go.

  4. Thanks for the well wishes....you too! No, I'm not a real big fan of exercise either. I've managed to lose weight on my own before and fell into the all or nothing routine with exercise. Not my idea of a good time. Have you tried Greek yogurts? Those are good and more filling (and more protein) than the regular stuff. Chobani or Oikos are good. I have an appt with the doc on the 20th of this month and I will get my pre-op eating details. It's my understanding that 2-4 weeks liquid diet prior to surgery is the norm.

  5. I am Also self- pay. I went through the entire long drawn out process 5 years ago only to be turned down by insurance company! This time I decided to skip All of that. My insurance policy will not pay for WLS under any circumstances! Wonder if they'll give me the money they will no longer have to pay for all the meds I'm on!!!!!!!!!! lol

  6. Hi,

Ok, so I have a high BMI, like 61, so my doctor recommended doing the Optifast pre-op for six weeks. I started the pre-op on May 22nd and my surgery date is July 7th, which actually is a little more than six weeks. I was so ready to get started that I totally agreed with him and said "let's do this!" It is funny how in when in the moment you will agree to something. Anyways, I have not cheated at all (yet). I am however suffering greatly.

I was just wondering if anyone else out there has had to do the pre-op for a longer period of time and if so, how did you make it?

    Thanks,

    Michelle
