Its strange but only 2 days to go till i get some non saggy legs and already the emotions are all over the place. I wasnt worried at all about my previous very lengthy surgery for my abdominoplasty and my brachioplasty but this bilateral thigh lift really has me in a more tense and anxious state. I know deep down i will be ok but i am not sleeping and my nerves are all on edge, i just want it over and done with now, i hate waiting around.
My surgery isnt till thursday afternoon so i have a lot of waiting around to do thursday morning.. My cold and chest infection seem to have cleared up so i dont think that will be an issue now so all should go ahead as planned thursday. I am trying to keep busy till then just to stop me clock watching ..This is the time where i would love a ciggie to calm my nerves or a large bar of chocolate to take my mind off of things ! thanks for all your nice comments and good wishes, they are very much appreciated
Cazzy,
Haven't been on here in forever! I'm so pleased to see you're moving forward with your thigh lift Best, best wishes Cazzy!

I also went the "fight with your insurance" route and ended up paying for it myself! SOOOOOOO glad I did. I did a 3 week pre op liquid diet, doctor required just two. All my first year appointments and fills were included in the cash price. Very hapoy for that....never had to worry about money when getting to the "green zone".! I'm a NEW woman, could not be more pleased with my decision to get banded!!! Good luck!

You'll do great. Keep up the good attitude!!
-
Congratulations on the birth of your child. You have soooo much to look forward to!!
-
Thank you for sharing! I think you look great, don't see how you need to lose 50 more!!!!!
-
Good for you! Woo Hoo!!

I was self pay, although not at NYU, and banded within a month of my seminar meeting.
-
Every time I've gone under general anesthesia ( 5 times), I completely lose my appetite for a week!
-
After care is the key to success with the band! I would stick to the surgeon and staff you like and respect. They have more invested in you than some random doctor close by. Good luck!

Probably not what you want to hear-tummy tuck and breast reduction!!!!! lol No really, I lost the 7 pounds they took off during the surgery TNEN another 15 pounds pretty easily and still losing!!! I think when you're experiencing a plateau, something has to change like calories, diet and or exercise routine. If you are not already doing very low carb (30 grams per day), try that. Also try increasing your Protein intake. Good luck!

The pre op "diet" is to shrink your liver, not for insurance. I did not have a certIn amount of weight to lose, just full liquids for two weeks. The above poster is talking about the 6 month supervised diet some i surances require.
-
btw I was also at around the 75lb mark when my weight loss came to a screeching halt!!!
-
Yep!! All I can say is once your plateau ends the weight will start coming off at a more rapid pace than before so hang in there!!!
-
You've lost 38 pounds in just over 3 months! That's way more than I lost in the first 3 months! Do you realize you are WAY above the curve on lbs lost? Keep up the good work and you WILL lose, no doubt about it! I also feel like you will get a fill this time as your weight has not changed in 3 weeks. Good luck!

I recently had a Tummy Tuck AND breast reduction. I was at 7.6cc in my 10cc band and my bariatric surgeon and the plastic surgeon said no need to unfill. I am sooooo grateful for that because it seems like people who are already in the green zone and then unfill never get the same restriction they previously had.

Same thing happened to me six years ago. After going thru ALL the preop tests I was i formed my employer had an exclusion in our policy for WLS. Five years later I had my band placed as a self pay. So sorry I didn't do it six years ago!!!! You will not regret spending the money!! Good luck!!

Recovery is very similar to gall bladder surgery. No bigggie!!! Good luck!
