Drink lots of water. Not being hydrated enough will cause them. The atkins diet will do that because of the high protein.

11 Days After Banding...
highland replied to MsAngie224's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Millions of people are banded each year and most have the same liquid requirement that you have. We all sucked it up and did it because we wanted desperately for this thing, called a lapband, to be the answer to our prayers of ending the obesity cycle. Please follow your doctors orders. The liquid diet is put in place for a reason. Is it worth eating something that damages the band? Imagine if you had to have it taken out because you damaged it by eating a solid food!! I know you can do this! Find something to keep yourself occupied. I took lots of walks, did some gardening, and cleaned every closet in the house!!! Hang in there, it really does get better" -
My band definately tightens when I'm stressed!

Gained Weight And Depressed!
highland replied to dalia93's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just because you weigh heavy on one particular day does NOT mean you've GAINED weight. Our weight fluctuates from day to day depending on many things. Get on the scale i. a few days and I'm sure you'll weigh less. Keep your chin up! -
The ONLY food that I have problems with is cantalope! How weird is that! It just comes up in my mouth like a foam.

I have been banded for over a year and lost over 100 pounds. I have not experienced any hair loss at all. i too have been very diligent about getting my protei. EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! I also did not lose my weight quickly, 1 to 2lbs per week was my average.

Just remember the band does not STOP you from eating it only helps to SATISFY you with less food and not be hungry for several hours after. The band doesn't WORK magically on its own. Follow the diet plan your doctor gave you and you WILL lose weight. Good luck to you!!!

Geeat job!! Keep up the good work!

I did not have a mushie or puree stage in my diet plan. I went from liquids to "soft proteins" which included canned chicken and tuna, eggs, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and white fish. My doc is big on low carb so I was never allowed potatoes, oatmeal, grits, applesauce, or cream of wheat; all my favorite foods!! :;

I stop eating after dinner, around 6:30pm, and go to bed around midnight. If I eat beyond that I run the risk of having acid reflux at night. It's a great motivater to stop night time snacking!!

2Nd Fill Yesterday, And Wow
highland replied to Rebecca Cain Salpacka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In the beginning my fills were immediately felt. I would have great restriction for about 3 weeks then need another fill. However my last fill was in March and I've been good to go since!! Many people say their fills aren't felt for up to two weeks though. As we all state on here, everyone is different. -
I'm very insulin resistent so I try to stay under 30 per day. But that's just me. My only carbs come from dairy and veggies.
-
The alcohol itself does not hurt the band. I believe most surgeons don't want you to consume alcohol because of the calories and the mind set it puts you in to possibly eat many things you would not normally eat.

If the skin can be pulled up to the top of your legs you're probably looking at an inner thigh lift. Just my thoughts. Maybe call the ps that did your tt. -

To Puree Or Not To Puree?
highland replied to allik07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No blended foods for me either! My diet plan went from liquids to soft proteins. During this phase I ate canned tuna, canned chicken, eggs, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and plenty of feesh white fish.
