If you buy the rotisserie chickens from the deli at your loccal grocery store ... they are incredibly moist. My NUT suggested this. I bought one yesterday, tore the meat off the bone, discarded the skin and fat, and put it in ziplocs. I ate it last night and for luch today. Very filling, low carb, and high protein.

Counting My Blessings

I am 9 days out and am also feeling restriction. I thought it was from the swelling, but my surgeon told me yesterday during my visit that it was simply having the band in place. My next appointment isn't for another month so we'll see. I am a VERY compliant patient so I'm doing exactly what he tells me to do. No starches whatsoever!!! No potatoes, cream of wheat, oatmeal.....RATS! -

Day 7 post OP and not feeling much restriction or fullness tonight...
highland replied to RedheadGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first post op visit yesterday. I'm 9 days out. My surgeon asked if I was getting a full feeling and I told him yes that it was like an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. I asked if it was caused by the swelling and he said NO! YOU ARE FEELING RESTRICTION from your new EMPTY band. I think sometimes people on this forum stress fills a bit much. Of couse I could be screaming for a fill in another week. Do I feel hungry many times throughout the day ? YES. Do I have to practice self control? YES. Do I exercise every single day? YES, including surgery day. As successful people were stating on another thread stated;this journey is a great deal of HARD work! Please take what I have to say with a grain of salt. After all I'm a newbiie!! => -
The comman theme with all of these success stories is : Hard work and follow the guidelines!!! I hope lots of newly banded, like myself, read this thread. Many congratulations to all of you for your amazing weifgt losses!! I've been on my journey for a month and lost 19 lbs total. I'm thrilled!

My sister, who is an RN, came to be with me through my surgery. It was so nice having a knowledgable person to help with questions. The anesthesia is the cause of the trickling urine. things will return to normal in about a day and a half. Make sure you walk, walk, and walk some more to get rid of the gas pains. It's the only real thing that works!! Good luck!

Lap Band Surgery Day Stories

Congratulations on your positive experience!!!! -
I mis spoke. I guess it's because my doc does't have a mushie phase. He has a soft protein and then soft food of course after the clear and full liquids. Today I went on soft protein and the wAter rule is in effect.
-
My surgeon says the water rule doesn't begin until you are eating solids because mushies go thru the stoma almost like liquids. For what that's worth. =)
-
I am 8 days post op And I didn't connect Protein with additional gas, but starting on full liquids in general. I do however think my frequent 15 min. walks throughout the day have kept the shoulder(gas) pain at bay. Hope this helps.

July 2011 Bandsters!
highland replied to lifeisjustbeginning2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am one week post op and I recognize the feeling you're having in your abdomen. I think it's a combination of the band settling in and gas. My surgeon was HUGE on water intake- 64ozs a day no matter what!! I found myself gulping sometimes and it did feel like restriction. My band is completely empty because surgeon said it was a tight fit but I sill think you will feel some restriction just simply havi the band in place! So ..... hang in there. My stomach is feeli g more and more normal each day just a little bloated still. Hope this helps. It's an odd feeling isn't it? -
Another mini goal reached finally......

I'm one wek post op and I take several meds some of which are quite large. The only one I break in half is Metformin ( horse pill)! The others I just take one at a time with several drinks of water. I have no restriction right now so the PA said this would be fine. The problem will probably get worse once we have restriction. For now I wouldn't worry -
Will be having surgery on July 27th.
