    Discouraged & Confused

I can definately relate, only I went through all of the pre-op tests BEFORE I was Informed that my BCBS also had an obesity clause!!! That was 6 years ago. Last year I decided to bite the bullet and just pay for it. UGH!!!! I'm also getting ready for a TT and breast Reduction that I'll also be paying! My only advise to you is figure it out, whatever it takes. I gained another 30 pounds and aged Nother six years into my fifties by waiting. So wish I had figured out a way to pay six years ago. Best wishes to you. Hope you can figure something out.

    In A Slump

Wow! I hear you girl!! I've lost 85 and my bandiversary is June 27th. I have lost only 5 lbs in the last 6 or 7 weeks. I, like you, want to hit 100 by my one year mark! I am now doing 1 hour of cardio every day, but the scale is not cooperating! I think the last 20 will be the hardest to get off NO MATTER what we do! Good luck! Keep fighting!!

    Urge To Over Eat

I am totally in the green zone and NEVER feel hungry. Wanting to eat is another story. I fi d myself battling with wanting to eat goodies ALL the time. Not sure if that will ever go away. One day at a time!!!
  6. You sound like you are right on track! With a bit more restriction you will be able to go for longer periods without being hungry. I used to drink lots of water to get me through the hungry periods. I rarely get hungry these days. I eat to get my protein in!
  7. I must be the most selfish person on the face of the earth!!! lol When I cook, which isn't all that often anymore, I do NOT make anything I can't or shouldn't eat!! You might be pleasently surprised by your family members. Mine always comment that they never leave my house feeling guilty or miserable from over eating. Today I made a 97% fat free ham, fresh carrots, fresh green beans, fresh asparagus, and a sugar free, fat free weight watcher pie! Yum! During those first few weeks after surgery; I only made what I could eat. Hubby cooked for himself. No children at home so much easier for me than most. Also - I made everyone go for a nice walk in the park with me right after we ate!! lol

    Feeling Weak Today

You will be getting plenty of carbs from the milk in your protein shakes. My doc also thinks carbs are the devil!! lol I have to agree. My weight loss journey has been successful in great part due to a high protein low carb diet.
  9. I also NEVER used my liquid tylenol. You actually buy children's and take the adult dose if you decide you want it. I had very little, if any, pIn after my surgery. The right shoulder gas pain was the most bothersome and walking is the only answer for that! Best wishes on your surgery!

    4 Days Post Op

Congratulations! My best advice would be to follow your doctors orders!!! So mNy people seem to think they should "test" their band those first few weeks. It's best to take things slowly allowing your band to heal and settle in your stomach, then begin the journey of fills and losing the weight. This procedure is not meant to lose weight rapidly, but to lose slowly and steadily. Wishing you great success on your journey!
  11. Flinstones Gummies are my dessert after dinner each night! Yum!

5Cc In Band And Not Satisfied

You have a good ways to go, and as your band gets more full you will also get smaller fills.

    2Nd Fill

Excuse me for saying, but that sounds like some very tough food to be eating the day Fter a fill. I am on liquids only for 24 hours after a fill. Please be careful!
  16. Same night of surgery. Not a problem.

    Swimming After The Band.

My incisions were completely healed and I was cleared to swim at two weeks! Thank the lord for that because I am a swim rat!!!
  21. You look marvelous! Congrats!,
  22. I have a tt and breast reduction scheduled for may21. Hope my upper inner thigh wrinkles are pulled up too!!!
  23. How is your port protected during a TT? My PS said I did not need to be unfilled, which was my burning question, but now that I'm home and looking at the surgical info and trying to figure out how the port is protected given the fat around the port area is separated from the abdominal wall. I may just be confused!! if anyone knows I'd appreciate your feedback.

What Do They Have Us Do

I just reread your post and it sounda as though you ARE following your doctor's orders. So good for you! My surgeon had me go from 1 week of liquids to two weeks of soft proteins then to slowly intro dense proteins and veggies. I think he does not have a mushies stage because he hates the idea of carbs especially mashed potatoes and gravy!!! lol I'm a believer though because I have NEVER been able to lose like this despite my 40 years of dieting!!!
