  1. Happy 32nd Birthday ImNRN2012!

  2. Would like to know how your surgery went and how you are doing. I am having mine 11/28/11. Hope to hear from you!

  3. After struggling with horrible gas pains for the first few days post-op I finally got relief!! What did i do? Walked 6 blocks, took some extra strength gas-x with maalox, took and aleve, and laid on a heating pad all night on the opposite side of the the gas pains (mine where on the left). I also stopped laying on the left side which I thought was helping!! I woke up feeling brand new. I hope this helps

    May 31st Surgery Day

I was banded on the 31st also, 4 days post op and had my staples removed today. My incisions are healing great, but OMG the gas pains under my left ribs and my left shoulder are unbearable at times. I have lost 20 pounds since starting my liquids and stuff on May 23rd. I would feel sooooo much better if the pain would just stay away. I find that laying on my left side on a heating pad works. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. Good luck and best of wishes to all!

    Gas Pains

And as far as your bandages, mine came off of my staples on day 2, and I took a shower the same day and daily since then. Its day 4 and I had my staples removed today and small butterfly bandages applied, my 5 incisions have healed great! I'd ask your Dr. ASAP

    Gas Pains

I was banded on the 31st of May and I am still having pain, but it has localized itself to my left rib and shoulder...I walk and that is when it gets worse, I also start to get all sweaty and feel light headed. I feel relief by laying on my left side with a heating pad on low while my fiance' pats me on my back. Call me crazy but on day 2 I thought I was having a heart attack. I also eat 2 gas-x before I lie down. I can also feel some relief setting up if i lean on my left side against a pillow. As soon as i sit up straight I can feel the pain starting to come on. My fiance' is rubbing my back as I type. These are the things that have helped me, if you or anyone has suggestions please share! I thought I was free of them this morning because te pain was gone and I could breath but as you see it came back. Best of Luck!

    Hair Loss

i am 4 days post op and my Dr. warned me even before the surgery that you have to, have to, have to get enough Protein daily or you will start to lose your hair...use protien sprinkle on your food, anything you can do, and good luck
  8. I am only 4 days post op, but I have been having horrible pain under my left rib. It will ease up with massage and laying on a heating pad, but it eventually comes back. I know what you mean about making yourself burp, I have to do that too. I have a hard time breathing and bending over. I know it can be gas but man this stuff hurts!! 2 days post op I thought I was having a heart attack . This stuff is gong to have to give in a few days or my Dr,. is going to have to do something. I have not even had my first fill yet either. Have you found anything that helps and does it go away? I can't live like this!! I am sucking on a ginger candy right now that I got at the herbal store, I have GasX'd myself to death already.....please share any advice TY
  9. Wanted to wish everyone who has had or who is going to have the surgery the best of luck. I have had great luck so far. The only complaint I have is a pain under my left rib, it comes and goes, but is present everyday and is PAINFUL!! Has anyone else experienced this pain and have advice? I have been told it is gas and to walk, but when I walk it gets worse, and I get the sweats. I know its only 4 days out but I need some relief ASAP!!
