    Surgery day tomorrow

Hi Rhonda, I am actually doing very well. I went for my post op visit on Monday. Dr. Bovard said that my incisions looked great and that I could move on to some mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, and blended soups and if I did well with that for a few days I could start trying some different things. My pain is pretty much gone all except for the horrible gas and the incision by my bellybutton. I go back to see him in 3 weeks to see where I am at and to have my first fill if needed. I hope that you are still feeling well. How are you doing since your fill? I actually get full pretty quick even with no fill right now. I was told it was because my stomach still has some swelling, though I will say I did not get very full as quick today. I just hope that the hungry bug doesn't hit! Please keep me updated on how you are doing. I am glad that I found this forum, I think it is important to be able to talk to people who are going through and experiencing the same things as you are. Hope to talk to you soon.

    Surgery day tomorrow

Good Luck tomorrow. I was just banded this past Thursday. I felt the same way right up until I went in. It really is not bad. I will be thinking of you. Please let me know how you are doing.
  5. I am now 3 days post op and feeling pretty good. I spoke with my Nurse anesthetist this morning as I work with her and she told me my surgery was one of the smoothest that she has seen. The only incision that seems to bother me is the one in my bellybutton. I still can not really eat anything because i begin to feel a light pressure in my chest which I was told was normal. How long banded?

  6. I was just banded this past Thursday June the 2nd. I will not lie and say that the 2 week preop diet is easy, it is difficult. Just keep reminding yourself that it is only temporary. It actually helped me for the post op period. I have not really been hungry yet and watching my family eat in front of me has been alot easier. I keep telling myself that this is something that I have wanted to do for myself for a long time and I will not let anything stand in my way.[
  7. New to this site and already having trouble with replying and posting it seems I tried to post my reply 2 times. LOL!!!
  8. My name is Khristi Pippin. My prayers were finally answered this past thursday when I was finally banded. I began my journey in December 2009. I was initially denied two times because my BMI was borderline with no co-morbidities. My bmi was 39. I finally received approval this past May when my primary Doc sent me for a sleep study and it was discovered that I have pretty significant Sleep Apnea. My starting weight was 236 when I initially started this journey. After the 2 week preop liquid diet I am at 214! I am so excited ! I can't wait to see how I feel and look in the next 6 months!
