Scheduled My Orientation

I would get my records from my primary to show weight at this time and then diet until your consult in August. There you can give them the starting weight records. -
Banded 4/20/12 And Concerned.......

I think coming on a thread created to express annoyance at incorrect spelling/word usage and then berating those involved in the discussion is ridiculous. Frankly, it's called a pet peeve. I, personally, do not think someone is less intelligent because they can't spell properly, but it also does not mean that I don't get annoyed at seeing it. My father, who couldn't spell to save his life, is a commercial airline mechanic and pilot. He is one of the most intelligent people I know and can look at an engine and know precisely what's wrong. If I were to try and do what he does, I would fail miserably because it is something that takes practice. His inability to spell and his admittance to such does not mean he is a stupid man. I think you are reading way too far into this thread.

I Back And I So Mad With This Surgery
NWgirl replied to marielalora's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to work on the emotional eating, it won't go away. I also have this, and when I get overstressed or emotional, I try to occupy myself with other things so I don't eat. If you need to, look into seeing a counselor or psychologist who can help you figure out why you are overeating. Also, if you are going to eat, find something healthy that tastes good (fruit, popcorn, etc). -

1. You should probably call your Dr and schedule an appointment to see about a fill. 2. Have you seen a nutritionist? 3. The band will not stop you from eating crap. 4. If you want to lose weight until you hit the green zone, you need to diet. Last, you've lost 37 pounds in two months! That is great. average is 1-2lb per week. -
How Do You Handle The Naysayers?

I am a private person, and so only told those people who are intricate parts of my life. I did not tell casual friends or co-workers because it is none of their business. -

The feeling will go away, just do not try to purposefully vomit. -
Not Hungry Vs. Full
NWgirl replied to Missy05.29.12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a difference. Full is when you can't eat more, not hungry is when you've eaten enough to make the hunger go away but have not eaten the max. If you are getting full after finishing, then you are eating too quickly and need to slow down. If you eat faster than the stomach can send the signal to the brain that you're okay, you are likely to exceed that amount. -
I was allowed to take my birth control continuously. I was told by my gynecologist that traditional birth control pills may not work correctly after surgery because some people's body absorb hormones differently. She said the best bet would be to do an IUD or use NuvaRing.

I am going to make muffin tin breakfasts tonight for the next week. I am planning on using the Jimmy Dean turkey sausage, liquid egg (probably southwest flavor), fat free cheddar, and some veggies (maybe some onion and mixed pepper). Lunches would be nice, but I don't know what I would make. I see meatloafs and other foods that don't look too healthy. My goal this week is to 100% plan my food and keep calories at 1200 or less with at least 45 minutes of exercise most days.

I Need A Buddy...newly Banded In Oregon
NWgirl replied to m.boyer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Nikki! My surgery actually went wonderfully! I showed up at Good Sam at 5:30am and was in surgery by 7am. I was definitely a little nervous, but my mom and fiance both came with me so they kept me busy and talking until I was given the beginning anesthesia meds, which made any worry go away Surgery took around 45 minutes and I seem to recall waking up in recovery at almost 9am. I was then taken to the short stay wing and was able to get out of bed and walk around, as well as sip Water. I brought a small pillow pet with me to hold against my stomach if I was sore- it helped a lot! I was discharged around 11:30am and went home to sleep. I slept a lot the first day because of anesthesia, but did get up and walk around whenever I woke up. I took my pain meds on schedule for the first three days and did not wait til I felt pain. The incisions ached and it was hard getting in/out of bed the first few days just because of the pulling. I had a really good recovery with minimal down time. I cannot stress the importance of a small firm pillow to hold against your stomach when walking, getting up/down, riding in a car, or rolling over. It really was helpful! -

I have Anthem BCBS, I was covered 80/20. I know if I were to choose an out of network doctor, it was 50/50 and my out of pocket max was much higher.

Call your insurance company up and ask if they cover lapband and what the requirements are. They will be able to tell you if you have to do a supervised diet or not. -

Green Zone But Throwing Up.....
NWgirl replied to Boniluuu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Firstly make sure you are actually taking tiny bites and chewing well. Wait for one minute between bites. If you are still having troubles, determine if it is the type of food you are trying to eat- you may be trying something that is not a good fit. If you still can't eat properly, drink protein shakes til you can get in. -
Ate Bread & Still Have So Much Pain...
NWgirl replied to MonsterGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can also do flat bread, but I try to toast things when I can because I can chew it better. I cannot do the cheap breads that goop instantly either. I did find the Flatout Fold it flatbread which works great for a sandwich! -

cardio helps belly fat, but there is no specific exercise you can do to target certain areas, it wil come off where it comes off.
