    Pain Pills

The nurse who is taking care of you is more than likely not a person involved in your operation. She would not know if your surgeon added any liquid. As for pain meds, I had small pills, not liquids.

Need Something Crunchy To Replace Chips?

I don't know the nutritional breakdown, but what about rice crackers?
  3. They are meals you make in a muffin pan. Depending on the size of the actual muffin spot on the pan, one or two of these items are good for a meal. For example, this week for Breakfast I made muffin pan frittatas. I bought a roll of chicken sausage, frozen pepper blend (red, yellow, green peppers and onion), Southwest style liquid egg, and fat free kraft cheddar. I cooked the sausage first, then did approx 2 oz per muffin slot (6 slots on my pan). I then added the pepper mix and then poured in liquid egg to the top of the meat and peppers. I topped each pan with 10 grams of cheese and then baked til done. Nutrition came out to 125 calories and 20g Protein per frittata. I can now reheat a frittata for breakfast each morning and have no excuse to eat unhealthy stuff.

What Did You Eat For The Fourth?

I had some spare ribs, some baked beans, and a piece of homemade garlic bread.
  5. As for must haves: - Ninja Pulse- Awesome kitchen tool! I bought mine at Target for $80 and it came with one large blender container, a storage lid, three travel mugs, and two dough paddles. The one from Walmart is a lower hp version and only has two cups but is the same price. - Muffin tin- I have recently started making some muffin pan meals, which are perfect band sizes! I can make my week of lunches or breakfasts and then reheat when needed. You can also freeze. - Jean's Bandwagon and the accompanying Cookbook. These have an abundance of great info. I find myself jumping to sections throughout the book for some strange questions, but I always find the answers! - This is not a kitchen accessory, but a mini pillowpet or small travel pillow to press against the stomach when getting up, down, getting in or out of cars, walking, or laying in bed.
  6. I would recommend going to Jean's website and ordering through there- she also has a book (encyclopedia) about the lapband that is great that is not available on Amazon- I think $25 or $30 for both?

    Medicine Question

Most practices only recommend tylenol, either liquid or the ones that are smaller than your pinky nail. Other types of medicines have things in them that may contribute to erosion.

20 Hrs Post Op And Still No Appetite!!

I got my appetite back at day 3. Good luck
  10. You need to sip water throughout the day. Even set a timer for every fifteen minutes and just drink an ounce.

    Tortillas

I can eat tortillas, but they are usually pretty high calorie.

    What About Wine???

I don't understand your question? Are you asking How will you handle it emotionally? Because you know you make bad food choices when you're drinking it, you should limit to maybe once per week if not only a couple times a month.
  13. For protein, my nutritionist said to multiply your body weight by 0.3, which would give you grams of protein needed daily. So 150 x 0.3 = 45

    Boost Made Me Vomit!

Some people are really finicky when it comes to the taste or smell of protein drinks, I know I am. I have settled for Costco premier nutrition chocolate pre-made drinks. I usually blend them with some fruits to get some more nutrition and improve the taste. You should try and go to a supplement store and get sample packs of proteins so you can try before you commit to something you won't end up liking.

    Hello!

Gallstones were not a pre-op concern for me, but my surgeon did prescribe a medicine to take twice a day for six months to help prevent formation after surgery.
  16. make sure to drink plenty of water too.
  17. We should have all get together for a coffee date somewhere. I did receive your PM Staci, I will text you tonight so you have my number. I'd love to know what Protein you use. When I drink a shake, I use the costco premier nutrition chocolate or Atkins Caramel cafe and blend both with fruits for a smoothie. I tried Jay Robb protein and love the orange dreamsicle but found the others to have a weird aftertaste- I don't know if I got bad batches, but maybe I should try them again?

    Vitamins

I was told I could take Centrum Chewables and a calcium chew. There are many brands of bariatric surgery specific vitamins too (Opurity, Bariatric Advantage, etc).

    Dairy

Some Dr's only allow clear liquids the first week, but two sounds a little excessive...
  20. Tell them when you feel good and ready, IF you feel good and ready. I would encourage you to find support groups and other people to surround yourself with that will support you in your journey.

    Lapband Vs. Sleeve?

My surgeon also recommended the sleeve to me, but I decided I did not want a portion of my stomach removed. They try to steer you towards bypass or sleeve because you will lose weight and you don't have to come in for maintenance, so the patient's compliance really doesn't change their "success" rates. Do as Elcee said and really research. There is a sleeve board, but I would take what they say in regards to the band with a grain of salt- there's a lot of band bashing on other WLS sites...
