I've been waiting years to be able to get this surgery and I finally got the call yesterday that it was approved! I couldn't believe it. I have my pre-op at 11am today and I'm freaking out. My dr is Dr Julius Gee. I've been researching him online and don't find anything on him. I've read that 1800 get thin drs have had their license revoked or suspended and that some of their patients have died. I've also heard of them scamming the insurance companies with outrageous bills and that part is true. They've charged over $79,000 to mine for only pre op things. I've seen a final bill for the surgery and it's over $149,000 when it should only be between 20-25k. I'm having mixed feelings about this place, but now it's finally approved and idk what to do. I need this surgery :o/ Has anyone had experiences either with 1800 get thin or this dr? Any comments are welcome!

Have been having a set back for the last 2 weeks and have only lost 6 more pounds. I'm getting back on track now and will be on my way again!

Almost 6 months.....Down 21 lbs since surgery, 13 in the last 2 1/2 weeks
) @ 11.5 CC and I finally think it's working. That, plus a really really strict diet :o/ Just really happy that I've lost a dress size and that I'm on my way to my goal ) -
4 1/2 months post surgery...6 fills.....10 ccs.....no restriction.....no weightloss.....WASTE of time, money, pain, and sanity!

Had my second fill last saturday. I've love 2 more lbs, but feel absolutely no restriction! Starting to get really discouraged...

I can't wait till I get my first fill this Saturday, I haven't been keeping the diet the way I'm supposed to. I'm back on solids and my bad habbits are bad. I have no restriction what so ever right now and can eat just the same as before the surgery

So I had a slip up and ate solids at the fair this weekend. I didn't eat a huge amount, but the sick feeling afterwards for hours was horrible

Went to the gym last night to do some cardio, got tired easily and got a pain to my side, but other than that it went well. I know this is gradual so hopefully today it will go a lil bit beter

Did anyone have a liver biopsy when they got the lap band done?

When I got out of surgery I was told that they did a liver biopsy on me, i kept asking why and they said its something they always do. Does anyone know about this? -
1 week post op....well, it wasnt good news today. I have bronchitis and am now on antibiotics.....This sucks!!!!!

Day 7 after surgery....Gas is very very mild and sleeping is much better...THANK YOU LORD! But I do have a cold and the coughing is really making my stomach hurt....I have my 1 week post op tomorrow and hopefully everything is ok....My worse fear right now is to tear stitches because of the coughing!!!!

Day 6 after surgery... Much better night
) Yey!!! Gas is still there, but the walking has brought it down much more, not as unconfortable which is AMAZING!!! I am struggling with food though, I'm always hungry and now to top it off I got a cold ( One day at a time though ) -

Hey ladies, the gas presure and pain is what has been hard. Plus I've just been depressed. It seems to have gotten somewhat better now that I've returned to work although I wish I could have had more time off. I do get exhausted by the end if the day and now to top it off I got a cold that makes me sneeze and cough all the time and makes my stomach hurt. I know it will all get better! X-ing my fingers -

Day 5 after surgery...Slept more last night, but still having a lot of pain and presure from the gas. I started taking the Gas X, but I don't think it's helping... Back at work and have no energy. Going home for lunch to sleep..
