Tiffy. Did you have pain with the abcesses?
-
I hope you right. There's a chance that it's nothing, since I have no pain.
-
Tiffy, Thanks for you reply. My doctor is traveling and I really worried. I will search to see If I can get a CT scan tomorow.
-
But a tiny hole whould showed an infection in the blood test and there is no infection. As you they also think this is a virus. Nausea is almost gone, only the fever is still here. No pain at all.

I had pizza 1 month out. I was able to eat half a slice and It almost got back. LOL. I think I will try in 2 or 3 months again.
-
I'm one of the small ones, BMI was 32 in the day of surgery. I'm 1 month out and lost 24lbs, doing great.

DogBone replied to DogBone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your reply, weight went down very fast in the first two weeks, going slow now, as spected. -
i'd like to hear from the smaller sleeve patients out there
DogBone replied to selvester420's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was BMI 32 at the time of the surgery. I'm 1 month out and lost 24lbs since then. Recovery was pretty fast and I was working 1 week after surgery. I'm already able to eat almost everything in small portions. -
Two weeks post-op enjoying hamburger
DogBone replied to Big_Mike's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
We also have to consider that bigger (longer) original stomach is the bigger the final sleeve will be. We man have most of times bigger stomachs than woman. My doctor take pictures of the bag he pulled out full of air like a bean, he showed me some, and they vary much in size and length. -
Two weeks post-op enjoying hamburger
DogBone replied to Big_Mike's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's amazing you can get hamburger 14days out. But it's the right meat to eat since it's crushed meat. Down here they allow tiny pieces of meat in the Soup after day 7. They also allow to take small pieces of dry chiken or meat after day 14. If your doctor cleared you for that and there is no disconfort I don't see why not! By the way you can eat the hamburger with the bread? -
I'm pre-op and the negative comments worry me!
DogBone replied to sweetlover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What do have to understand is that the VSG also decreases your hungry so it's somehow easy to go with the small portions. On the other hand you don't have a lot to loose. I'm only 19 days out, so maybe the 1yr> folks can say better. -
Complications (Previous Post and Update)

The slower you loose the heathier it is. I think 20lbs a lot for two weeks! I did not loose that amount! Cool down that's what you need to do. What difference will do to loose it all in 3 months or in one year? -

20 pounds in two weeks and you think it's not good? Advice: I think you need to talk to someone. -
Great Bigboy, I'm 15 days out, almost 18 lbs down since surgery.
-
Great ! That explains the blood ! Down here they put everybody that went throught a VSG to take a medicine called Motilium for two months after surgery, you are supposed to take it 15 min before each meal. I think you are on track now. Maybe you could ask your doctor if you should thake the PPI longer, until your reflux decrease.

Anybody change their mind completely and NOT have the sleeve??
DogBone replied to misspatrice's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 12 days out. I already can drink the same way I drink before the VSG. food is a little more difficult, but I'm alble to take any Soup with meat pieces easily. I also was so much afraid to regret, but now that is done no regrets I whould do it again. -
Are you cleaning your tongue? When you are eating a lot your tongue gets a scrub from food, but now....Buy a tongue scraper.

Please Help!!!! 5 days out....
DogBone replied to Val_Martin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 10 days out. In my case cold drinks cause some pain but it's getting better each day. Try warmer drinks. The firt 6-7 days were very difficult to have all the liquid I need, but now liquids go down very easy. I'm already taking Soup with tiny pieces of meat! Down here they do: 1st week clear fluids 2nd week smooth food, soup with tiny pieces of meat and vegetables 3nd week, almost normal, still tiny pieces of meat I did not get any Protein Drink. -

I'm pre-op and the negative comments worry me!
DogBone replied to sweetlover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don?t know about everybody. I can only tell for me. Hungry supression was why I made mine VSG. I always was hungry before. Even the one day liquid diet was a pain for me. I could not stick in the diets. Now I?m in control, no hungry at all. -

I desagree the VSG is only about a small stomach. VSG is about HUNGRY, my hungry is gone! -

DogBone replied to AniO's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Sleeved with lots of Complications
DogBone replied to momoftwo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm also very sorry for you. I hope the pain go away soon. I was sleeved 2 days after you. Well I'm kind of a co-player with you. I also had a lot of pain in the first day. At the afternoon my blood pressure droped, but in the end it was only because of the anestesia. AT night they gave me morfine to relax and a medice to sleep, nothing worked. I had an umbilical hernia fixed together and it was causing a lot of pain. In the end I was luck, in the next morning I was able to drink with no problem, but I was in pain and with nausea because of the morfine. They send me home (I thought they a litle bit crazy). Like other people said here each day you get a lot better. About the weigth loss don't worry about it now, you are full of gas and fluids, also the IV is getting you glicose. As soon it comes out your body will start to level again. I went home with the same weight, after 3 days it dropped 6lbs. -
Hi all ! I'm from Brazil. Can I join you? Sorry about my English since it's not my first language. I have just been sleeved on friday (20 aug 2010). So I'm 2 days out. I had the VSG via laparospic video + unbilical hernia fixed. Here some differences I notice from what they are doing here: -No pre op liquid diet, only one day before surgery; -I was sent home in the next day; -Clear foods will go for only one week; -Costed me 10k usd all included, health isurance down here only cover open surgery. For now some pain, mostly because hernia fixed and gas. I have some nausea in the first day because the morfine they gave for pain. No more nause than. liquids are going in easly, no hungry :-). I fight againt my weight for 40 years before this, never went to Obsesity II status. I hope this works for me.
