I am originally from Jackson, Alabama, where my parents, sister, and nieces still live. I met my husband on a blind-date in 1998 and we have been together ever since. We married on my parents' wedding anniversary, July 7, 2001. My oldest stepdaughter, age 22, works at Walgreens. My youngest stepdaughter, age 18, just graduated from high school. She is planning to start college in the Fall and wants to become a Cosmetologist. I have been a Social Worker since 1998. I began FSU's online program in 2007 and graduated from the SW Master's program in 2009.

I have had severe back problems since 1998, which limits my ability to exercise. I was thin all of my life, until a couple of years ago. I have recently been diagnosed with Diabetes, Hypothyroidism, High Blood Pressure, and Urinary Incontinence. I have had difficulties getting pregnant and am pretty sure I have Sleep Apnea. I decided to have VSG because I am becoming concerned about my health. I am tired of having no energy and always feeling bad. I attended a Weight Loss Seminar on 5-21-11, at which time I decided on VSG. BC/BC will not pay for any weight loss surgery since I have not had weight loss issues for 3 years or longer. BC/BS won't pay for VSG no matter what, so I decided on the Sleeve. I will paying out of pocket and am hoping that it won't take too long to meet all of the doctor's requirements. I am ready for this change.
