How Soon Were You Back To Work?
Mango replied to Tai29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the procedure on Sept 28th. Came home Sept. 30. I am going back to work this Friday, Oct 7, 9 days later. Desk job. I feel fine. Not even tired despite the clear liquid diet. Down 8 lbs as of today. -
This is definitely TMI but I am 4 days post op and have not pooped. I feel really stupid asking this question, but when do you poop again? Not during the clear liquid stage? I know it makes sense because I am not eating solids, but still...I need to know...thanks...I really am not as stupid as this post makes me sound! Lol

TMI but I need to know if this is something I should be worried about.

Here's another TMI question. Surgery was Wednesday. Today is Sunday. I haven't pooped yet. I haven't eaten so that makes sense but I need someone else to chime in. -

I don't know the answer but am experiencing something similar. I am 4 days post surgery. My period basically ended the day before surgery but now I seem to have it again, very little, but there. I am assuming our liquid diet is throwing off our cycle.... -
I agree. The gas pain is the worst! I am not allowed gas x strips. I still am not allowed to sip anything! I think I am staying a second night in the hospital.

Surgery went very well. I got naseous every time they injected pain meds, but then my doc switched my pain med to Thorazine. My surgery was at 11 and have to walk around at 8. Worst part?? Extreme thirst!!!!!

Only a few more days until....MY SLEEVE!!
Mango replied to HappyFace's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am getting sleeved on the 28th too! Let's keep each other posted! Can't wait! -
Yes, my doc said the worst part of the surgery is how tired I will feel the first two weeks. Also, I get headaches from artificial sweeteners so I am going to stay away from them, restricting myself even further! Good luck ravenjeh!

Keep us posted! I am getting sleeved this week and your posts are really putting me more at ease.

Congratulations Carlito! I am having surgery on wednesday and was glad to hear that after 5 days you feel well! I plan on going back to work 5 days after surgery. I am hoping I can but can take more time if necessary. What do you think?

Good luck to all of you pre-ops! I am going in on 9/28! I keep reading about all of those who just had surgery and are drinking protein drinks. It's confusing me because my doc said I will be on clear liquids for the first two weeks after surgery. Was anyone else told this? Also, how long is the actual procedure? My husband will be sitting in the waiting room anxiously and would like to know for how long. Finally, my doc does not require a pre-op diet but I plan on sticking to liquids for the next two days. Any feedback is appreciated.

1. To take more pictures with my family. 2. To not feel like the fattest (and sweatiest) person everywhere I go. 3. To not be embarassed to go to the gym. 4. To be healthier and be around longer for my family. 5. To run around with my daughter and not be out of breath. 6. To feel good about myself. 7. To not shop at the "fat lady store" 8. So my daughter doesn't ask if my colleagues make fun of me for being fat! lol 9. So my daughter doesn't ask me why I have another butt on my belly! lol 10. To put on a bathing suit again.
