I too have some of the same concerns. My husband is 69 years old and I am 53. We go for our seminar tomorrow evening at 6p at Florida Health in Ormond. I don't think our insurance is going to cover any of this. I don't know about the out of pocket expense either....good luck to you.

My Husband and I are both very overweight and his heart doctor stated lap band will give him an additional 5 - 10 years on his 70 year old body which right now is maybe 3-5 years. No brainer.... he also suggested to him that I (55 years old) could benefit as I have type 2. I discussed with my PA today and she stated it was a very successful procedure and would recommend me to also look into. We have made an appt for next week to go to the seminar for more information and hopefully will be able to get insurance to pay some. What are some of the draw-backs? What is the average cost out of pocket? Should we both do at the same time so we can process together or will be need to do at seperate time so we can be there for each other during the recovery process? HELP
