  2. You and me both Tammy! I'm also on day four of pre-op and it was HORRIBLE!!! I went ice skating with a bunch of friends this morning and had a great time and burnt like a ZILLION calories! BUT then they all went to McDonalds on the way home and I was so protein starved I swapped my lunchtime protein bar for a seared Caesar salad with the same number of kilojoules - not bad.... BUT then my boyfriend didn't want the rest of his fries and EVEN THOUGH I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE AND I DIDN'T NEED TO AND IT WAS STUPID I ate like 500 calories worth!!!! Ugh! I don't think I've ever felt guiltier for eating ANYTHING!!! But - I felt SO bad I forced myself to go to gym (even though I was still sore from ice skating) and work off 500 calories... So by the time I got home I felt okay... THEN in yet ANOTHER moment of weakness, I caved to my boyfriend's teasing offer of ice cream (And SOMEHOW justified it to myself) and now I am miserable AND feel sick due to my occasional dairy intolerance... Bleh. Today was a major failure.

  4. Yeah, I tried to call my nutritionist today to ask about it bit I couldn't get through. :/ I'm trying to keep it balanced but I'm just not hungry!

  6. Sorry for the quick post, I'm on my phone and can't type/read much!! I'm on day three of pre-op and am finding it really hard to eat enough food!!! Especially since I'm exercising off over 700 calories a day! I eat 2/3 of what I'm meant to be at most and am DESPERATELY craving savory foods and MEAT!!!! ugh!!! I know that my body will go into starvation mode if I don't eat enough but I can't seem to stomach it!!!

  8. I'm feeling better about myself actually! I KNOW that my weight isn't because I stuff myself with junk or don't exercise... I KNOW I eat healthier and exercise a MILLION times more than my skinny friends... I KNOW that everyone in my family is overweight and most of them have serious health issues as a result... I KNOW that I've inherited a hyper-efficient metabolism that means I'm ALWAYS hungry....and I KNOW that the band will get my body back on MY side for once! I mean I'm not thrilled that I have to have surgery, but I UNDERSTAND that there are things beyond my control and I'm PROUD that I'm brave enough to take action against this problem that has had such a HUGE impact on my life! Remember: WE ARE STRONG! WE ARE PRO-ACTIVE! WE ARE DOING THIS TO BECOME BETTER VERSIONS OF US!
  9. - Hating my wardrobe - Getting puffed on stairs - Crying in changing rooms - Sarongs at the beach - Not feeling sexy with my boyfriend - Jiggling - food guilt - Dreading dress up parties - Still being hungry when I eat out at restaurants or friend's houses - My butt hanging over the side of chairs - Not being able to sit on my boyfriends lap - Not letting my boyfriend pick me up - Being self concious when I get changed at gym or around friends - SPANKS!!! Ugh! So many more!!!
  10. I thought I would be too lathargic but it's actually got me really motivated! I burned over 700 calories at gym tonight and only ate like 600!!!
  11. As for the two day thing...

    I'm not sure how typical it is, I know my mum stayed overnight for hers, but our health insurance (who also cover about $6000 of the cost) covers it. I think it's good to just rest after putting my body through such as experience! Plus I get my own room in a private hospital with cable TV and pain meds! So it shouldn't be too bad! lol.

    I'm lucky in a sense because I can interchange any of the Optifast products (bars, shakes, soups, desserts) for my pre-op. Plus some fruit and veggies. So it's not all liquids! After losing so much weight in one day my head is definately in a different place! I killed myself at gym today and actually worked off more than I ate! =S

    Wow! That's almost 5kg! (2.2lbs = 1 kg) Great Work!

  14. I'm the 5th too! I started pre-op yesterday and have already lost 1.3 kg (almost 3lbs I think.... I only do metric!) it's REALLY helping me to cope with the pre-op diet because it reminds me why I'm doing this!

    What Pre-Op Diet Are You On?

    I'm on the Optifast range. 3 Optifast products a day (bar, dessert, shake or soup) plus 4 cups of low starch vegeatables and two serves of low starch fruit! I was 98.1 this morning - just weighed myself (I never weigh at night/so close together) and I was down to 97.4.... AND THIS IS ONLY DAY ONE!!!

  18. Started pre-op today and with a few additions to my optifast shake this morning (replaced 1/2 the water with fat free milk and added 50g of no fat yogurt), I made it through. I'm concerned though because I'm not hungry enough to eat everything my plan says to. =/ Made it to gym again today... only to realise that I'd forgotton my shoes. =S

  21. Ugh! Start pre-op in like 10 hours AND have exams! Bleh.
  22. I start pre-op tomorrow and thus made the most of today. However, I DID make it to gym for the first time in over six week (I got pnumonia =S) and I WORKED MY ASS OFF and burnt over 500 calories! So glad I didn't lose too much fitness during my down time.
  23. Under "Effects" - The slider on the sparkle effect just changes the colour not the amount of sparkles! =)

Today is my last day of FOOD FREEDOM!( So I’ve planned my perfect “Last Day Diet” before I descend into the horrible world of Optifast Meal Replacement… (aka Pre-Op) =/ Breakfast: Bacon and Egg Roll from the take away shop next door… SO YUMMY! Lunch: Gnocchi and homemade pasta sauce…. Yummier!!! Afternoon Tea: Carrot Cake after gym…. GOD I love cake! Dinner: Chinese food from my friend Steffie’s restaurant! Drinks: Midori Illusion, Diet Coke and Strawberry Milkshake!
