    2015 Who's ready?

Thank you Kim for the info. Was wondering why this group hasn't done anything. Maybe posting the FB group link here would help us all get to one "place" to discuss meetings. I know most of us are on FB more than anything else. If you don't mind, can you share the FB group link? Who knows I may already be part of it....LOL I'm part a few FB groups for local, but most of the time, the meetings are over in Tarrant county and thats just too far for me. Look forward to reading your blog.

    2015 Who's ready?

Congrats Stacey. I bet you are really excited about having your surgery. I'm ready to get this year started. As soon as it warms up a bit I will start walking again. Hoping to lose some more weight. LOL

    TX - DFW

Hi Everyone. I'm 3 1/2 years out with VSG. I'm quite active in the WLS community on youtube and facebook. Haven't been on this site much in the last couple of years. Didn't realize that a local chapter had been started. From what I can tell, no actual meetings have been set up as an on going monthly or bi-monthly meet up. How many are still interested? I'm in the Allen area. Robin

How I keep from over eating!

Here is a great video about stretching your sleeve.
  7. This has been one of the hardest things for me and I don't know why. My husband and usually do not like the same things but when we do we just share an entree and salad. If you think about it, it's usually alot of food for one person anyway. But when we don't agree on what to eat I'm stumped. I don't really care for leftovers and I also don't want to waste the money on a full size entree. I'm tired of ordering the same appitzers over and over too. We only go to a few different places and actually lately I've just been ordering a dessert...yep, I know thats bad but none of the food sounds good to me anymore. I've tried to explain this to my husband who LOVES to eat out, but he just doesn't get it. I don't enjoy just sitting there while everyone else eats, I feel left out. I sit there with my hands in my lap like a goof ball. Our lives use to revolve around food. When you Celebrate, birthdays, new jobs, dating, anything...and I don't know what to do anymore. I really struggle with this.

In before the newbies take it over

I've been away from this forum for way to long. Happy to see this new group. I felt lost with all the newbie questions before. I'm 18 months out and 23 or so lbs from goal. Been stuck for the past 6 months. I can't seem to get out of the 160's. And the holidays didn't help. I was at 158 for about a week before Christmas time, but gained and back up to 163.

    What's The Deal On Hunger?

Pdxman...I still like that full feeling, and I hate it. I so want that to go away. I don't know why, but I like that feeling. That is what I'm fighting with now.

    What's The Deal On Hunger?

I did not feel hungry right after surgery. If I didn't have to eat or drink I would not have. But I knew I had to sip sip sip. About 3 weeks out I had the head hunger. Physically I was not hungry. But I was so use to eating certain foods while doing certain things...like watching TV, etc..that I "thought" I wanted something. Or when I'm bored I want to eat...Not that I'm hungry, my tummy can feel full, but its habit. Your stomach it mostly removed, but your mind is still the same. We have so many habits we have made over the years, its hard to break them. Now some say they actually feel hunger pains right after surgery, usually its the acid. I did have that, but took my acid pills the doc gave me and it didn't happen anymore. If I forget to take the pills for a couple of days, that feeling comes back. But its not true hunger. Hope that helps.
  11. Thank you for these stories ladies. Makes me so much better about long term effects and weight loss/gain.
  12. Shaah, your dietition probably didn't want you eating processed foods. Even though they may seem ok, calorie and protien wise, they are not good foods for you. The sodium alone can hault your weight loss. Eat healthy whole foods. Try yogurt, greek yogurt has alot of Protein and you can get the plain and add whatever you want in it to flavor it. Try eggs, bacon, sausage, canadian bacon, ham or turkey slices and cheese. I would not advise soda either. My doc said NO NO NO...not only is it just empty calories or chemicals, its not good for our sleeves. I'm sure you had the surgery to get healthy, so now is the time to eat really healthy...take baby steps. No one expects you to do this over night. Just do it one meal at a time, one day at a time. Hope that helps.
  13. I had my surgery on 7-11-11, was 212.5 on surgery day. Today I'm 172.6 Down 40 lbs since surgery. Down 60 lbs since highest weight of 233. Sad isn't it?
  14. Well I'm right there with you. But i'm 7 months out and been at a stall since Oct. 24th. I got to 179 that day. Today I'm at 172.6 But I've been as low as 171 on Jan. 15th, I just maintain basically around the same 2-3 lbs. I haven't been on the forum in awhile, so this is why I'm back.....so what is this boot camp thing? shakes again?
