Well one week out and I've lost 7.7 lbs Woo Hoo! Myst....do you go to the post op classes at Baylor Plano? I'm also in menopause so I know that the surgery screwed with my hormones, even thought I'm on HRT. I think its getting better now. I can't wait for that POP to happen. LOL Did you have a large indention on your left side too? Nancy, WTG....we are on our way.

Liquid Stage: What do you eat?

I did have the cream of chicken soup from MyBariatricPantry today....wow, it was good. Tasted like Thanksgiving dinner. If I had drink cranberry juice with it, it would have been complete. LOL Went to order more from them and out of stock. Dang....and it has 15 gms of Protein too. Think I'm going to try adding pumpkin to one my vanilla shakes for something different.

D day is Monday July 18th

Good Luck tomorrow. We will be thinking about you. What kind of shapewear did you get? I need to start looking into that. I wonder when is the right time to start wearing it. I have my tummy binder from the hospital and I love it.
  8. Welcome. I just had my surgery this past Monday with Dr. Nick. He is great. Glad you found this site. It has so much info and so many great people here willing to help, even with our silly questions. LOL

    6 Days Post Op

Yep, my BP is low. So will track it a few more times tonight. Then tomorrow not take my BP meds and track it for a couple of days and if its more normal, then go see my PCP. Maybe I can finally get rid of the BP medicine.

    6 Days Post Op

LOL Mythreechildren....its hard to ignore that pain sometimes. I find when I've been up moving, like taking my shower, getting dressed, the pain/pulling/burning starts. So I have to sit back down. It's really getting annoying. I feel I can't be up moving much at all and I thought by now I could do a little more. But I'll take it slow for a few more days and hope it gets better. I sent hubby to Walmart to get a blood pressure monitor. So I'm going to start checking it and go from there.

Liquid Stage: What do you eat?

No pudding, no yogurt, no jello......if it doesn't flow through a strainer...no no no. Strick huh? I can have juices, and that has been a change. Just thought maybe I was missing something....thanks ladies for all your ideas.

    60lbs down pic

You look awesome. Keep up the good work. How was the concert?
  19. I see all this talk about Protein poweders and I know right after surgery you really can't eat thick foods, but later on, why can't you eat greek yogurt to get most of your protein. I love Fage 0% total greek yogurt. 1 cup has 23 gms of protein. Just wondering. I hate powdered drinks. But going out tomorrow to GNC to get a few samples of some to try them out before my surgery. Thanks for any info.

    Greek Yogurt Protein question

Thanks everyone for your input. I can't wait until I can try yogurt again. I have to wait until 3 weeks post surgery. I hope I still like it. My nut said I could put some in my Protein drinks as long as its thinned out enough to go through a strainer, I might try one today to see if it will work or not.

    Unsupportive mother :(

Kristie, did you change your screen name? I swear it was different yesterday or my mind is playing tricks on me. LOL

    Throwing things away.

LOL that is too funny. But just think, what if you had not thrown those clothes out....you might not have seen the surgery.......or had it. It was meant to be.

    Back at home

Oh Nancy, I wish you could have gotten your meds filled by now. That would make you feel so much better. I would be miserable without my Lortab, especially at night. I was going to try and do without them today, but already had to take a dose. Have a horrible headache, and just feel blah. Didn't sleep well either. I miss my morning coffee time. Drinking a Protein shake now, but thinking of making a pot of coffee (decaf) to see if it makes me feel a little more normal, even if its just a cup or less I get down. Please go get your meds, may help you sleep better. Can you use cough drops for the coughing? I starting the dry cough last night, it hurts....didn't use cough drops, but might tonight if it continues. It's only when I lay down. Hugs to you.
  24. I'm post op day 4. My nut said not to worry about vitamins and minerals until week 2. Just wondering when everyone else started or plans on starting to take theirs.
