Sleeve size changing??
Texasmom65 replied to Brockcrawford's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, I'm the same way too. I do find that in the mornings, it's easier to eat my breakfast after I drink something warm. So I have my coffee first, then eat later. -

Famly Dinner and my Sleeve
Texasmom65 replied to x4achange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my husband order take out taco soup.....I ate the broth from it with some melted cheese in it. I also had him get all 3 soups our local chinese resturant made. I only liked one of them.....but it was nice to have a different flavor. Get the soups and just strain them if needed. Buy progesso soups and strain them if you need too. Good luck, I remember those days. Even though its not easy, its so worth it in the end. :-) -
Monday I will be 10 weeks out from my surgery. This past week I've been so tired and fatigue feeling. Anyone else been like this? I get plenty of Protein and Water, eating well, no problems there. Wondering if I could be low on Iron or something. Any ideas?

I used and still have some of the pantry selections. I love them. The cream of chicken soup is wonderful. And I love the hot chocolate too, very creamy....and has protein too. -
I'll be 10 weeks out tomorrow. This morning when I got up, I noticed a pain on the left next to my belly button when I leaned up against the counter. It's a small area about the size of a silver dollar, but only hurts when you press on it. It's a soreness type pain. Seems to be getting worse as the day goes, takes less pressure on it, to feel the pain/soreness. The only thing I can think of is something to do with me working out. But Thursday night was the last time I did that. So why would it start today? I lifted 5 lbs weights and did some small crunches, but nothing else I did should cause this pain. And really....3 days later to feel the pain. Not sure that is the cause. It doesn't hurt sitting, walking or bending over. Only when you press on it. Any idea?

I'm so tired lately...why?
Texasmom65 replied to Texasmom65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually I have an appt to see my ob/gyn on Friday. I checked with my surgeons office on what labs I would need done. So the emailed me the list to take to my doc on Friday. I'll get my labs done then and have faxed to my surgeons office. I need my yearly bloodwork done anyway for my ob/gyn, since I'm post menopause. I did buy some Iron, but wondering if I should take it yet, or wait until after my labs are done. Now the carb thing makes sense. I've really cut back on those as well. I might try this this week and see if that helps. Thanks ladies. -

So you hear alot about wearing compression garments as you lose weight. At what point did you start wearing one? Do you think it really helps with the lose skin? And where did you get yours? What is your favorite and why? Any info on this subject would be appreciated.

I'm 7 weeks out. I'm not losing fast at all. Week 1 -7.70 Week 2 -4.4 Week 3 -4.4 Week 4 +1 Week 5 -1.8 Week 6 -1.2 Week 7 -2 That was on Monday. Tues I went back up .6 lbs. So I'm at 194 as of today. It's been the same for 3 days. But I was 194 last week too. On Aug. 1 I was 196. On Aug. 31, I was 194. So for the month of Aug. I lost 2 lbs.?????? 7 weeks out and I'm only down 18.50 lbs. Most of that in the first 3 weeks. I know we all lose differently. But this is really getting to me....really bad. For weeks I've been telling myself its ok, I will lose. But you see I did WW for 4 months and only lost 5 lbs that entire time. I feel this is JUST how its going to be for me. I went through the surgery and the cost for pretty much the same thing. Help me...help me get these bad thoughts out of my head....help! I'm drowning here. I'm so down and depressed, it affects everything and everyone around me. I just can't seem to work or do anything without thinking I'm a failure. I track all of my food. I get more than 60 gms of Protein per day. At first my calories were anywhere from 500 - 650 per day. So I was told to up them to lose more....so now I'm anywhere from 750-900 per day. Nothing changes. I've been working out and doing more this week than any other. Going tonight to work out with a personal trainer. I need help with these head games. I feel like such a loser and not in a good way. I was thinking of tossing my scale and not tracking my food for an entire week.......is that crazy? But the other part or me, would go nuts not knowing, if I'm gaining or losing....I'm so torn. Any help or advice I would love. Thanks,

Gayle and Dana....thank you so much. You both made my day. Thank you, I do feel better today, instead of feeling sorry for myself, I'm gonna grab the fat by the horns and wrestle it off my body....LOL I'm putting up a new video I did this morning on YouTube....explaining what my new program is going to be. It's a way to find what formula works for ME. But it took all the help from you girls and my Youtube family to help me figure it out. Hugs to everyone today, Robin -

Thanks everyone. I do take my measurements once a week and that is my saving grace...I do lose inches even if I'm not losing pounds. I just want it to speed up a little. I know not every week is going to be huge numbers, but it would be nice to have a 3-4 lbs loss every once and awhile. Knowing that the first 6 months are the best to lose the most, I just want this to work for me. If it gets slower after 6 months, I'll be pulling my hair out, instead of it falling out. LOL I do keep in contact with my doctor's office. It's been about 2 weeks since my last meeting with them. They don't seem worried and tell me its going to work. So I guess I'll see how September treats me. Hopefully better than August. -

Julie, I'm not offened in any way. That is why I came to you guys, I need a stern talking too. You have some great ideas and your probably right about the stress. My stress level has doubled lately. My husband broke his leg at my 4 week mark. So since then I've been taking care of him. He had to have surgery and had a plate and screws put in....so no weight on that leg for 6 weeks or longer. So here I am, trying to recover myself and having to help him get in and out of the shower, get his clothes for him, taking his food to him plus doing the things he use to do around the house....he does nothing right now. So my load doubled up. Not to mention the cost of his surgery, while we are still paying on mine, so money stress is added to the mix. Jackie, My doctor's office and NUT told me not to count calories or carbs, just my Protein. I have a hard time doing that. I have my carb count on my food dairy just so I know what I eating, but I don't really worry about the carbs. But maybe I should. I don't know......I'm so confused about all this. Kelly, I'm going to try and stop weighing everyday. that is a hard habit to break. But I'm going to do it. I'll put the scale up until MOnday, my weigh in day. Thanks, ladies for your advice and help. -

Oh I love the Tervis tumblers...I have tons of them. That is what i use every day. It keeps my water/ice cold and no sweating glass all over my desk. I also use the lids with a straw in the car. You can get 16 oz or a 24 oz at Bed Bath and Beyond. -
Eight weeks post-op, I can eat everything

I"m 7 weeks out and can eat anything also without problems. Now I have not tried lettuce or steak yet. I'm not losing fast at all. I am averaging about 1 lb per week since Aug. 1 st when I started solid foods. I'm getting in anywhere from 650 to 800 cal a day. -
Typical day, typical foods
Texasmom65 replied to Penpen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 7 weeks out and no problems so far eating. Breakfast: Protein shake with instant coffee or egg with Morning Star Sausage pattie, or bacon Lunch: Tuna with olive mayo and dill relish with 4 crackers or costco italian meatballs with bbq sauce or some type of sauce. I've also made a pizza out of a 1/2 pc of flatout bread with pizza sauce, turkey pepperoni, cheese and sometimes add Morning Star meal starter cumbles. (like crumbled sausage) Dinner: Shrimp, stew meat in crock pot, meatballs, hot links, chicken or hamburger meat. I have not tried steak yet. If we go out to eat Mexican, I will get a soft beef taco and just eat the inside, not the tortilla. Oh and I haven't tied lettuce yet etiher. Refried Beans are good too. Snacks; Protein bars or shakes, fruit...like cherries, strawberries with greek yogurt and some granola. (sometimes I have that for breakfast) -
ENS Multi vitamin and Calcium in one....drink
Texasmom65 posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Has anyone tried this from Celebrate Vitamins? You get it all in one packet to drink. Your multi and Calcium. Only have to drink 2 per day. For a 30 day supply its $44.95 They sent me a sample, have not tried it yet. This would be perfect instead of taking so many pills every day. They also make one with added Protein. Taking your calcium and Vitamin at the same time has been a no no....but you would think they know this...so maybe they figure it out. What is your thoughts on this? ENS Multivitamin & Calcium Drink Mix (Wild Cherry) 30 Day supply Created for surgical weight loss patients, our Celebrate ENS (Essential Nutrient System) provides a full compliment of vitamins and minerals, plus 500 mg of calcium citrate in each stick pack. Our integrated formula provides maximum solubility and ensures that the vitamins and minerals are readily bioavailable. This product is the best option for patients immediately following surgery. -
