nNothing to be afraid of - I was banded June8th I am 4 days post op and feel great- I was on a liguid diet for 9 days befor surgery and for the first 5 days after surgery still on liguids The first 2 days are the hardest - keep yourself busy and have lots and lots of water or crytal lite right next to you... it does get better and easier -- What helped me was I ketp thinking how much weight will I lsoe by surgery day -- it was 11 lbs I was psyched!!! I am not a scale reader I go ont he scale 1x per week - so just hold tight wait ti out and youw ill be successful. it is tough biut will get easier PROMISE! cess has moved quickly say 2 months. going thru apptments & approved within days of my last apptment. just scared

I was banded June 8th - I am on a different diet - 5 days liquid only - 5 days (if it cna go thru a straw I can have it ) 5 days -if you can mash it with a fork eat it then 16 day on work back into solid foods - I cannot beleive how good I feel Day 1 I slept - day 2 sore when turned only took half a doese of Pain med mid day and when I went to bed- Day 3 went to walmart to get out of the house - walked around -- n pain meds all day - today vacumed my floors no pain INCREDIBLE~ How are you feeling- Also gas issues -pain- first couple of days WOW

Its ok to be anxious and nervous - normal reaction to any type of procedure- Just remember one of the reasons you go thru the tests, lab work etc. before surgery is to ensure you are able to go thru the procedure with no issues.. Good luck

Agree - switching up is a good idea -I travel a lot with my job so out of town I use the eliptical machine and tread mill - at home I swim in my pool - and create my own Water aerobics as well as water weights - just keep moving in the water - Once you get past the first two weeks of commiting yourself to doing soem sort of excercse at least 3-4 xs a week it gets much easier and you even start looking forward to it. Hope this helps

Ni drain - I am not aware of a pain pump for a week - they will give you pain meds when you go home

Not banded yet (June8th) but I was told put fork down chew wait about a minute then another bite

Look for a MEDICAL STAFFING COMPANY AND A SCHOOL THAT TEACHES MEDICAL PROFFESSIONALS - THERE ARE MANY STUDENTS AND STAFF WHIO WOULD LOVE THE SCRUBS (as lquote name='pinknsassyemt' timestamp='1307305325' post='1622231'] My biggest "sad" moment is all my scrubs. I am a scrub "*****" and have about 30 sets, all top of the line, newest styles and @ 25.00 a piece. I am hoping to find someone to donate them too, but I don't want to offend anyone by asking if they want them.. So... I am going to use this post.. if there are any medical professionals that need 2x, XL scrubs send me a message and as I shrink out of them I will send them on their way.

I was just discussing this very subject today- mine will be DONATED DONATED - no more Big Girl store in my closet too many sizes -- And it will make room for all the new clothes I will need in the next year

Great week much better than I thought it would be - Protein drinks and water are doing it for me I didn';t even have a problem when my hubbie made his steak last night- I even made his favorite mashed potatoes and onions for him! He did not wan the steak but I went an bought it for him after I got my nails doen so he had no choice -he want to be so supportive but I told him I appreciate it but he mut also stay healthy and Frozen White Castle for sinner doesn't get it- I ahve had so much energy OMG Guess no sugar or carbs will do that for ya~ So Monday see Doc for BP Update (took my BP this weekend soooooo much better) Tueday -visit with Doc for pre - surgery WED SURGERY DAY~~~~~~~~~~~

My surgery is June 8th also -CONGRATS TO BOTH OF US~ I am quite a bit older than you and wish I have thought of weigt loss surgery many many years ago - SO take advantage of knowing your adult life will be waiting for you with so many new adventures even as simple as going to the mall as being able to try on clothes you see in ANY store and know it wil fit Try and relax and use the forums as support but there is such a thing as information overload~ [Everyone is different and use the forum as support and your own experiences GOOD LUCK quote name=LauraRN' timestamp='1307284561' post='1622117] You know I wish I was in your shoes......I have to wait until oct......but for encouragement go to you tube and watch the lap band before and after videos......just know if you follow the rules your video will be on there for my encouragement........ Even minimal activity will help - ealk around your kitchen- living room bedrooom for a few minutes eachj day
