    Calling all A11s!!

    It's been a week today and i'm going strong and don't even WANT any sweets! I have had a couple cravings, but didn't give in. I even went to TWO kids bdays parties last weekend, one on sat and one on sun and both of them were full of sweets and crap and I didn't have any, I was so proud of myself! I did go to the movies sunday night and ate popcorn though and I was up 2lbs that now is coming off. I hate this down during the week, up after the weekend weight crap! I thought the sweets were what did it, but hell I was still up!
  3. Everyday. I can handle the little ups and downs, but I do get frustrated sometimes too. I tried to do once a week, but if I wake up "feeling heavy", I want to know. Although, I can pretty much tell by my eating whether it's just a bloated feeling or if I have indeed put on a lb or two.

    Hey everyone! The format for the site on my phone changed and for some reason, it won't show me page numbers. It just shows the thread and even when I hit the first page, it won't show page numbers, only "next page", so unless i have time to flip through 39 pages just to get updated on the last 2....ummmm, no. That's why I haven't checked in lately! GG, sounds like you had to have a stress test but it went well, i'm glad for that! I survived the holidays but came to a conclusion. I can't eat sweets. Not physically. Mentally. I can't handle it. I can't eat just one cookie or a piece of candy, I can't buy a bag of oreos to keep in the house so I can have one or two a day because I obsess about it and will eat half the bag in one sitting. So it's a week late, but i've made a new years resolution. No more sweets. Period. Not cutting out sugar all together, but no more Cookies, candy, ice cream, cake, brownies, donuts, NOTHING like that. So far, so good. It's been two days, lol. Yesterday was a challenge though, we went to a bday party and there was a big table of nothing but sweets. I had a handful of chips and some ritz crackers and was FINE. It's funny how easy it is once I tell myself I can't have it. When I tell myself to limit it, I struggle. I'm treating this like I did quitting smoking. I can do this, I just have to change my frame of mind and I know that if I eat one (or if I smoked one cigarette), I wouldn't be able to stop. Oh and i'm up to over 12ccs in a 14, so Bob, don't worry, you WILL get there, just keep getting filled! I think I have a good amount of restriction now but am angry that so many foods go down easily still, lol, I never thought that sliders can come in the form of chips, crackers or anything else that's dry like that. Sigh.

    Sounds like you just didn't chew well enough! I have had that happen and then the same day been able to eat whatever it was, just much slower and more thorough. Hey all! I had another fill and am up to just over 11ccs. It feels good but my weight loss is so ridiculously slow. I go back to work tomorrow night and finals are OVER and I passed! Now on to clinicals. I am positive that being more active now is going to make a huge difference! I am still at 19lbs, which feels great, I was just hoping to have lost 40 by the time I went back to work. But it's ok, my pants that I got a while back from work but that never did fit, feel good now! Unfortunately I just made three batches of Christmas Crack! I'm taking some to work and the rest are for our party on saturday night. We're having a Naughty Christmas party. Now if I can just stay out of that damn crack!

    Give it 2-3 more days and drink and walk as much as possible. Pain meds cause constipation also so if your taking vicoden you need to drink a ton. It was about a week before I pooped.

    Kelly, do you have it anywhere else? Are you short of breath at all? Are your feet swelling too? Congrats Scott!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the link GG! Damn 20 bucks though! I want it but it'll have to wait until i'm back to work next month. Good job Kristen! I think I've become/became on of those people who wanted to b***h about the band not working for them. I haven't lost any weight in a couple weeks but have been holding pretty steady to 223-224. I haven't been entirely honest with myself though either. I've been pretty damn bad with the sweets the past few weeks. I'm amazed I didn't gain anything and should be thankful. Although I still feel like I need a bit more restriction, I need to get away from the damn sweets. After a semi-bad weekend, Monday I went to school with my healthy lunch packed, feeling pretty good about myself, get to class and we had guest lecturer who brought a HUGE ASS bag of candy from home from trick or treating. All good stuff! He told us he didn't want to take any home so just keep passing the bag around till it was empty. I resisted the first two times it passed me. Eventually my resolve wore down. Bad bad bad. Then tuesday is a new day, went to school with my good lunch packed, get to class, we have another guest lecturer (they love to feed us!?) and she brought a big chocolate cake and mini muffins. But by then I was done, nope, didn't do it. Yay me. Today was good too. I am doing well with actually eating a small amount and being "full" if you call it that. I feel like it's either stuck, or I feel nothing. But i'm getting better at knowing when to stop and i'm seriously only eating a fraction of what I would eat before anyways, so it IS working. So yah.

    Calling all A11s!!

    Seriously? 10.5 ccs in a 14cc band and tonight i was allowed to move back into regular foods. I made burritos, pinto beans, rice, diced tomatoes, seasonings. I made myself a small one because I wasn't sure how much I would be able to handle. I chewed really well. Ate the whole thing and didn't feel a difference. Had a SMALL bowl of ice cream with the kids and right now i'm satisfied but will prob be hungry in an hour ish. I don't want to be one of those people who say the band doesn't work for them, but I am wondering if I can get up to 14 ccs and still not have a lot of restriction. I want it tight dammit and so far, it just isn't there. The only way something might get stuck is if I take a big bite of something like fries (which is RARE, I don't eat fries!), or a really dry piece of chicken. Even bread, if I chew it well, it goes right down. Well, I haven't tried it yet since this time, but seriously, dinner felt the same. I didn't over eat, but I know i'm just not where I need to be. Maybe i'm expecting too much. Someone posted a link or a name to a book written by some chick who has the lap band and it looked like a good read, anyone remember what it was?

  11. There is definitely discrimination against fat people, whether they realize they are doing it or not. I work in a job of 99% percent males, and I see a huge contrast in how they treat the cute thin females and how they treat me. Mind you, I'm not treated badly and for the most part, I like the guys I work with fine, and there are some that still flirt with and tease me and its all fun, but there is def a difference for most of them. I've only lost 17lbs and people are starting to notice. I will be keeping in mind the people that wouldn't give me the time of day before losing the weight though, I don't need that kind of shallow in my life.

    chicholicious, OMG that would piss me off something fierce. I would remind her that Marilyn Monroe was a size 14!! 14! Size 12 being so fat, my ass. Ugh, i'm mad for you. GG, YAY!!!!!!!!! I'm at 17lbs, I can't wait to get to 20. Since I had my son almost 7 years ago, the smallest i've been is 219 ONCE. LOL, mostly fluctuated between 220-230 the past few years. I was 258 when I joined WW the first time though, about 6 years ago. That's how I got down to 219, but that was seriously, one time it read that. So the most i've lost, pretty much ever, is about 28lbs, so i'm looking forward to being there. I really want to see what i'll look like 50lbs lighter from where I started. The stress of school is going to kill me. My blood pressure is up, i've had a few minor anxiety attacks, and have cried more than once because of the stress. I'm 3 weeks from finals right now! ACK! Then my clinical rotation starts (hopefully I GET there!) and I can relax a little bit.

    How the hell can someone lose 17lbs and NOT go down a clothing size? I put on a pair of 20s I haven't worn in a long time, that were super tight before and they fit, but are even a little snug STILL. Seriously?? I know i'm not working out, will rectify that soon I swear, but almost 20lbs and not a damn clothing size yet??? A few people have noticed my face and butt look smaller, and I do feel smaller, except for today when i'm wearing snug jeans and feel like big whale, but i'm seriously disheartened at the size thing. My regular jeans and work pants are looser but that's it.

    How much time off work?

    Supposed to be one week for a desk job, two weeks for heavy lifting. My job is physical and I do heavy lifting, so it was two weeks for me and when I went back it was no prob at all.

    The snacking is a hard one to break for me, it helped me before the band because I didn't eat big meals, just had healthy snacks throughout the day, so its a total flip. I'll be working on it though! Your doing a good job!!

  19. I'm at 10ccs in a 14. Not sure if my restriction is perfect yet. In the morning its very tight but seems to be not tight enough the rest of the day. I had to give myself a talk about slider foods though, I had no idea that chips or crunchy things would slide right through. Bummer. I'll be staying away from those and am trying to eat more dense items. I'm only 4 days out though and last time it seemed to take over a week before I felt all day restriction, not sure why though?? Strange. I'm thinking I may need another .5ccs!

    Calling all A11s!!

    Bahaha, operation stay away from halloween candy, FAIL, BIG FAT EPIC FAIL. I'm not stressing, I'm on my period and tomorrows a new day, unfortunately that evil crap is still plentiful in the house, but at least i have school to keep me away all day! What the hell is a slider food? Cause I was thinking things like milkshakes, starbucks, etc. Things liquidy or melty like chocolate and candy. Today I was able to eat a handful of pop chips (kind of like potato chips but their baked, super good and not too bad for ya) and didn't feel a thing. I was totally snacking and wondering why I didn't feel anything. Then I was like, hmmm, maybe I need to eat something substantial like I did for breakfast. So I did, I had two turkey/cheese roll ups but was still hungry and had a kashi granola bar. Still didn't really feel like I did in the morning though. Are chip/popcorn/crunchy things slider foods?? I wouldn't have thought! Maybe i'm just not there yet as far as restriction. I ate dinner and was stuffed on teryaki chicken, broccoli and rice and was totally sliming (I think!? I just kept getting a mouthful of spit every few min that I had to spit out) so I figured I ate too much and it wasn't that much, prob not even half what I might have eaten before so I was like, ok good! LOL. Am I even making sense here?? I have a lot to learn! What do you eat for breakfast? I had mini wheats the past two mornings around 715-730, followed by hot coffee over the next hour or so and am hungry by 10. The kashi granola bars seem to go right through, which bums me out, I was hoping they would be a lunch by themselves. I haven't tried bready things since my last fill on sat cause i'm scared. Oh and I can't do the protein shakes before school *whispers* they give me gas.

    Omg the Halloween candy! Get it away, get it away!! Yesterday was good, I had a lot of restriction in the morning, could barely eat my frosted mini wheats, got maybe a handful down, very slowly, I was like this is awesome! Went to school and had a mandarin orange about 1030 ish, had to go very slow and could barely eat the whole thing. But around 1, when it was time for lunch, I was able to easily eat a whole kashi granola bar. I waited 15 min and was hungry so I heated up a frozen burrito thinking I wouldn't be able to handle it, but unfortunately it was no problem. The rest of the day was easy, I must have some swelling in the morning. I still didn't eat a ton, a few potstickers with peas and rice for dinner, but after trick or treating I had some candy ah well. I'll TRY and stay away from it today and tomorrow ill take a bunch of it to school with me.

    I'm glad I have school cause I take my lunch and two snacks and that's all I get! And its always fine, I'm not starving or anything, so I know its just my head hunger getting the best of me, although I am doing a wee bit better in that department. I can't wait till dec, then Ill start exercising again.

    First off, if you don't have the restriction yet, all your doing is dieting. I am not planning on really dropping lbs until I'm where I should be restriction wise! Ms.lady, don't beat yourself up!! I've only lost 16lbs total!! 36 is phenomenal, you just can't see the forest for all the trees. You'll get there, just keep up with the doctor and get more fills. We.will.get.there.
