The length of time from first call for information (4/2010) to information meeting (8/10) to actual surgery (5/26/2011 )was very lengthy and discouraging.  However there were two extra tests ordered, a mix up by the Lap-Band doc's nurse/secretary regarding insurance approva that probably tacked on an additional 4 weeks and a mix up between the sleep apenia clinic and my primary care physicians office that cost me another 4 weeks.  Right now I'm only in 3-day post op and feeling "so so" - each day a little better but for some reason I did not aniticipate the recovery to be like this; thought it would be more 'of a snap.'  Physician seems to be concerned about his patients.  Found the hospital nursing staff a bit harried and not very sympathetic to this type of surgery.  Actually had two CNA's that were more responsive and empathetic.  At the moment not sure what to do about lack of bowel movement in nearly four days.
