Like others, I have tried every diet, hypnosis, acupuncture, counseling, etc. and have yet to get rid of the 100 pounds of weight I gained over the last ten years. I was always thin and active until ten years ago when I had serious sinus infections and was placed on cortizone for almost a year. During that time I gained over 80 pounds. After surgeries I was finally taken off the medication and I thought the weight would fall away like it had come on. Instead, I just couldn't get it off and I was so tired that I just stopped doing any excercise except dragging myself to work and then collapsing when I got home. After several (5) friends had Lap Band surgery with great results, I decided I would be a good candidate too. My only concern is that of the five people I know who have had the surgery four are very, very upset and depressed with the large amount of sagging skin on their arms, legs and stomach. They said they are almost as embarrassed of the loose skin as they were being fat, except that they know they are healthier. Although I am scheduled for Lap Band surgery on June 13, 2011, I am really concerned about the excess skin problem too and wonder if I will also be unhappy with the results of losing my 100 pounds. Does almost everyone have this problem?
