Did everyone hve to give up caffiene?
DrmBig4Evr replied to JessicaAnn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't have caffine for at least 6 weeks, haven't asked beyond that point. I can have coffee or tea, but decaf. -
I did mine alone in the states, if I had to do it over again I would pick going it alone. I was able to sleep when I wanted, get up and walk etc
-
you will sleep plenty afterwards...good luck!

I am very exhausted, I was just sleeved on Friday. I get up and walk around as much as possible. I figure I'll give it at least 5 days for it to subside.
-
I agree, you must rename your name to your old one then add a number or letter so we know, lol
-
Awesome job!

I'd start the 6 months and then appeal at the same time. An appeal usually takes about 15-30 days depending upon their turn around time.
-
Keep notes of whom you spoke with, dates and there is always a reference number generated. That way if they do deny you will have references that they can look up in an appeal. Requirements differ from policy to policy. I didn't need one for BCBS NJ, but I did need one for UHC a few years ago. The one I did need for BCBS is a "listing" of my weight loss attempts and failures and they accepted it.

See everyone on the flip side! It has been about 2 years of researching WLS and I'm finally here today. The timing is so appropriate and I am thankful to God for his Blessings and He is so on time. No matter how frustrated I was over the past few years it was all a Blessing in disguise. With that said, the tremendous support from all of you (you know who you are) has been very much appreciated and I know I am not alone! I have a late surgery today at 1:30 PM, so I will be starving and dehydrated by the time I get to the hospital, but I'm excited and nervous simultaneously...again THANK YOU ALL and see you on the flip side!

DrmBig4Evr replied to TexasMiss's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
lol, whatever works!! -
Sounds like the anesthesia may still be in your system...are you getting enough liquids in??? Call your doc to be sure!

Does anyone find you can eat more
DrmBig4Evr replied to elisa's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Does that time also coincide with "that time" of the month?? -
Oh and thank you for being honest and getting support here
-
Walk away! Hit the reset button! I understand the temptation, but if you are 2 weeks post op you are not in the clear yet no matter how good you feel!

I am finally approved!
DrmBig4Evr replied to AJJohnson6's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you!! -
I'm asking my doc about it tomorrow. He gave me a script that said 20mg once in the morning and once at night. That is over the counter though, but it is time released and I read something somewhere that this wasn't good because then you can't crush them?? idk, I'll clarify tomorrow and let you know.

Nail polish and surgery
DrmBig4Evr replied to Linda 66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was on the instructions so I specifically asked the nurse at the hospital during my pre-op testing and she said its not as big of a deal anymore. I don't need to remove it as it shouldn't interfere with the newer pulse oximeters. If it does they will just take it off there in the room for the one finger.
