Glucerna hunger smart shake
DrmBig4Evr replied to kishi2013's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I bought mine on Amazon too when they had a huge sale. Your best bet is Costco too. -
Remember that hydration is key right now. Also, did your doc give you any medicine for nausea? I had that feeling also around that time.

That was my problem presurgery. Now my hunger is more of an empty feeling, but I can tell the difference with the acid. I stopped taking my PPI the other day and I can definitely tell, I do feel "hungry", but I know its because of the meds and not the hunger feeling I was having before I came off which is more of an empty.

I'm having the same thing! Also, I too am having trouble getting my protein in, but the last few days I have focused on it and today I finally exceeded my goal. I try to look for items that are very high in protein. -

Lol, John I did pretty much the same thing!!! Had my surgery on a Friday, kids birthdays were Sunday/Monday, I was back at work Wednesday and working out the following week and I flew from TX to AZ about 2 weeks out.

I agree with you Laura, and John and Amanda. There are alot more people with regrets. I was at a support group meeting and this guy openly stated that he sees something that he wants and really wants to just eat it all and he can't. This is why he regrets it. It is truly a mental thing. I myself do not regret it, but I need to put in alot of work on the mental part of it. I realize this and I am scheduling my psych appointment along with a nutritionist. My doctor was a lapband doc who didn't have a full program of aftercare or recommendations, just a sheet that says if you need it, its here. I know the mental part is the hardest for me, but I have researched WLS for 3 years before I got it done. Sad to see people have had major surgery to change their lifestyle but regret it because they have to still work for the weight loss.

How do you know when to stop?
DrmBig4Evr replied to thundathighsz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Huge burp usually, also runny nose and occasional sneezing. Very funny actually! -
I have mirena and love it, I gained weight initially but that was presurgery and that was from eating from hormones. Otherwise, its wonderful! Sorry never used the ring.
-
Glad you like it, but make sure you get some protein in too

before and after pic question.

You can do what I did, because I dont have many pictures before when I was at my highest. I avoided the camera and I asked my sister in law to find pics of me even the ones I would never want in a million years. I will use them now that I am losing the weight for good -
No clue why, but yes mine does too.

Counts for Fitness Pal
DrmBig4Evr replied to Michele1024's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I set my protein intake goal at 60, my carb intake at 60, I ignore the fat grams and sugar intake. I set my calorie goal at 800, I also measure my inches and weight. For the ticker, go to your profile, edit profile, under my ticker or signature you will find a place to set it up. Your figures in your My Surgery tab will be used for the ticker on this site. -
Just make sure you follow all directions and give all of the information you can regarding meds and when you took them and/or stopped them and you will do great!!! Also, make sure you use the pumps on your calves and walk alot!

4 weeks post OP and i need help!
DrmBig4Evr replied to merade123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your stomach is smaller because it is healing and is swollen, at around 6 weeks I am told you will be able to get in about 3-4 oz if you aren't already. I'll be 4 weeks Friday and I can comfortably get in a little over 2 oz. If you seriously can only eat 2 bites I'd call the doc because that seems a bit too small. -
Beautiful!

Warning: TMI, but need thoughts
DrmBig4Evr replied to losingpains's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same thing happen to me. I am not too worried, but if you are bleeding excessively I'd call the doc asap.
