WOW... My predictions are getting more and more accurate!! I guess it's just a matter of time before I have my own show, like John Edward... The question is, of course... Did I predict the future, or precipitate it?!?! Hot bike! Congrats!! Don't lose the house before this weekend - we need a place to BBQ on Saturday!!! lol

Wonderful!!! Love it!!!

Tellie - I am so, so sorry that this time round was so hard on you. But I'm glad you're fixed up, and in a couple weeks you'll probably feel good as new. **hugs**

Wow, Ryan... Don't take this the wrong way, but you're starting to remind me of my remodeling projects... lol I want to do something that seems easy and straightforward, like replace the outside door with a REAL door, and as soon as I make the decision, the problems start unfolding... lol Can't get a door the same size, so have to make the opening bigger. Once the old door is out, and the opening is bigger, I see that the wiring will not accomodate a taller door. Once the wiring problem is solved, I see that the header isn't going to work like I thought... Once the door is in, it's virtually impossible to level, and the bolts don't line up with the receiving holes... (ARGGGGHHHH!) But you know what? In spite of the trials and tribulations, the delays and setbacks, I FINALLY got the silly new door, and it's EVERYTHING I hoped it would be, and I LOVE it. Although the whole process was extremely painful and frustrating, in the end it was all worth it. Hopefully your path to your new band won't make any more downs, but you WILL get there, and when you do... It will have all been worth it. Like Mothers and childbirth... As soon as the baby arrives, the nine months before, and the pain of delivery fade into distant memory... (or so I've been told! lol) **hugs**

After nearly ten years of long distance dating, TODAY IS THE DAY that my BF moves in!!!!!!!!!! I leave in about 15 minutes to pick him up from the airport! Okay, I'm 43, but I might as well be in highschool, experience-wise. This is the first time I have lived with an SO, and we have both lived alone for many years. I know that we're both going to have a lot of adjusting to do, but please keep your fingers crossed for us. I am SO excited, and so terrified... But SO excited!!! lol I probably won't be checking in for a little while because we're taking a four day weekend, but I will be catching up with you all later, and of course, with those of you in Vegas next weekend. Ah, l'amor!!

Oooooooohhhhhh!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I just got chills. I need a fix of this stuff every once in a while!!!

ROTFLMAO!!! Geez, I wish I'd KNOWN that... This reminds me of an off color joke... I know, what doesn't?!? lol "Do you know why women are so bad about judging distances? Because ever since time began, men have been telling them that __________ is "nine" inches..." So my version of that joke is: "Do you know why men are so bad about judging how much things weigh? Because ever since time began, women have been telling them that (((()))) is 135lbs..." lol

I need more stories... Come on, cough 'em up!!

You ARE barely restricted! Eat more, Sweetie. Your band is wide open, and offering very little help at the moment. Don't stuff yourself - go carefully (chew, chew, chew, eat slowly, listen to your new "full" signal) - but don't go hungry, either. Once you start getting fills eating less won't be a struggle. Physically, anyway...
-
Betty - What terrific news!! I remember how thrilling getting a set date was. Sending you lots of positive vibes!

This adoreable fellow?!?!

HATE the pic?!?!!? What on EARTH is there to hate about that pic?!?! I love it - I think it's fantastic...
-
Peace, baby!! You're right - you are looking SO hot!!

lol.... *blush* The SEX is ALWAYS wonderful... But then for me, SEX=WONDERFUL, so that works out pretty well... I like having a naked man walking around the house... Plus, on top of all the other wonderful things he does, he's a cuddler. Sorry, girls, I'm going to have to ask you to STEP BACK. This one's taken!! Hands to yourselves!!! lol Vera - I laughed out loud about the socks and underwear on the floor comment too... I don't think it will bother me too much, since it will all be mixed in with mine... Is it just me, or is the world especially beautiful today? :knockedou

Are women getting banded more than men?
donali replied to California Dan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think that women make up the majority of the MO community, and that women are under more pressure socially and professionally to lose weight. I also think that women are more likely to seek support than men - so even if the number of surgeries were equal, I think you would see more women in the support groups than men anyway. JMHO and guess... Anyone else? -
You guys are so great! Last night was wonderful - I just about felt like busting out of my skin, the joy of seeing him at the airport, and knowing that he was coming HOME. He said I was glowing... lol Everything was so warm and comfortable, and I could tell he was really happy being here, too. He was duly impressed by the porch... I'll keep everyone posted!!

Happy, happy BDAY!!! Whoo hooo!! Kind of like a double-bday - celebration of the original coming to life, and now celebration of the birth of DeLarla the Barbie Biker Chic! **sniff** I'm so proud!
-
Michelle!!! I LOVE that story!! Walk tall, walk proud... BEAUTIFUL!!

Hi Katie - Yes, it's very normal to start feeling hungry after the swelling goes down. It's going to get worse for you before it gets better! Don't panic, follow your doctor's protocol, and you'll be getting a fill soon enough. In the meantime, remember that these next few weeks are all about HEALING, not weightloss. Any lost weight before your first fill is simply a bonus. Some peopel even gain pre-fill. But once you start getting fills, everything changes. Just please - do NOT progress faster through the liquids/mushy phases than your doc prescribes.
-
Hi Nancy! Thanks for the update. I am sending good thoughts your way, and hope you start moving down again soon. In the meantime, feeling so much better is really the important part...
-
Hi Glitz - If you're eating because you are physically hungry, then a tad of a fill might be in order. However... If you are eating for other reasons than physical hunger, you may want to work on that, since you've already been overfilled in the past. I know it is hard to kick food out of the driver's seat of your life, but that is what we have to do to be successful. The band helps, but we have to take the wheel and make the choices about WHAT we eat, and in response to WHAT... I don't know if any of that was helpful advice... I guess the bottom line is, if you are COMPLETELY honest with yourself about what you are eating, and in response to what, is a lack of restriction the problem? Or is the problem your relationship with food? Regardless of how tight you go, you are going to have to heal your relationship with food... Good luck, and please keep us posted!

Yep...

Lisa - A huge HUGE HUGE congrats on your license!!! I am so sorry you got hurt in class, but am glad that you're going to be okay. A torn muscle in your chest wall - OWWWWW! And poor foot. So I am assuming the motorcycle class is taking care of those medical charges?!?! And you have had your warning.... It is just a matter of time now before you come home to ANOTHER bike, with your name on it. Remember, all - you heard it from me first!! DeLarla's going to be a TWO motorcycle family within the next 12 months! Mark my words!

I've lost that full feeling, now it's gone, gone gone
donali replied to tigk29's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Can you "eat" more frequently, then? Quantity restriction is one of those variable things by doctor. I always advise following your doc's orders, but you may also want to ask him if it is possible for you to increase the amount at this time, since purees should be just running through, and not causing your stomach to work. Let him know you are too hungry - if he doesn't okay larger portions, perhaps he'll prescribe you an appetite suppressant until you can move to solids, which should keep you statisfied longer.
