Hello, I alsoused Dr Ponce, I did not use any clinic, my surgery was at a different hospital than the ones mentioned, but all of my Drs reccomended him, he is much less "commercial" than most, in my opinion, and, basically a great guy. I am from Tij so I do get to see him every month for a consult, and a y question even 4months later....he always makes time, even over the phone. Good luck !! E

Well......its been 2 months since i started to go crazy about my hair loss, started at month 3. i THINK it has started to get better..... Its still falling but, it started at 10 being really really bad at month 3, month 4 is now an 8. Less air when i shower and little less hair during the day. Im taking 5000mg a day of Biotin 400ml of a Protein shake a day for a month now Using nioxin for about 3 wks And my dr just gave zentrium Vitamins yesterday to help. Lets hope we all get great new back along with our great new shape !! Ale

Well.....im oposite all of you, i want mine to get smaller !!!! Started at a 44DDD, yes three D's ! Now im at a 38-40 DDD, 60lbs less. I can almost fit my hips and stomach into a size 14 dress...but not my boobs....now that i am not scared of hospitals due to my vsg....boob job in 2012 for me !!

Hi Diva !! I also have arthrihis and a really bad knee. And as you decided to have my surgery to help my knee and hopefulley postpone knee surgery... I am 60lbs less and has helped a little, still cant do stair, or look under the bed !. Question for you, how much weight did you lose before you saw that change in your knees ?. Also, my Dr has not allowed my to do exercises yet, what workout do you do?. And when were you able to start ?? Sorry for all the questons, its just the hardest part of this is my knee...not the eating, hair loss...but my knee, im 36 and use a cane...dont want to anymore. Wow.... That thing about Biotin having ALL hair grow is not good. I am having laser hair removal on my underarms !!!. I decided to cut my hair today, really short. Not so bad, i figure the shorther it is the less tangled and less it will fall out. I am counting ythe days until the biotin, Protein shake and nioxin to kick inn and me to get great healthy hair !!. Ale

Hi everyone, all of your post are so great.... I am at month 3 post op....and I am so scared ! Since month 2 i noticed I was losing my hair, but mont 3 is just so bad. I get Handfulls when i combs, or just touch. Please tell me i will not loose all my hair. I am takin Biotin, Omega 13, Protein shake a day, my Dr tells me it will stop soon, i am just scared. How much zinc a day, or Iron is everyone taking ??. Really scared... Ale

Yes !! I am 3 months post ot and imcan say taste buds did change. I had my first chocolate cake and it was tomsweet.... Chocolate too sweet ????? Never before surgery ! I hope its normal anyway Ale

I am also taking it ow, but my Dr told me to wait or a month after my surgery, took one a day. Then added thevsecond one a monthnafterbthat. Its been 3 months since surgery and i have no issues w/my stomach. Ask you dr!! good luck... Ale

Thank you guys !! i have written down all shampoos and biotin!! I have also read about ovationnhair therapy, it is even used with quimio patients, I and willing to try everything, and yes, even washing my hair less times per week !!!!! A friend used zinc, that also could be an option. I know hair loss is normal, as stall, nut when you are actually going thru it it just sucks !, no matter how normal !!! May we continue to lose weight....gain hair !! Thank you again !!

Hi everyone. It has been 3 months this comming saturday since my surgery...and My hair is just falling every second. My Dr says its normal, not to worry, but....when will it stop !! He does not want to give me any meds for it, but i am just so stressedvevery time i see a little hair on my clothrs, car, room, floor !!!!! When did it stop for you, or any shampoo you trust to work, help !! Thank you A

Hello... My experience with Dr Ponce is wonderfull. Like I said I live in Tijuana and have arthritis, so because of that I started looking into the sleeve, I Have 3 different Doctors here in the city and all recommended him. They all agreed that most Drs that do the sleeve in Tijuana dont have accurate data because most operate on US citizens that leave after surgey so it is hard to have success rates, very few post op consults. My Dr literally said "think of all the questions you have, I will wait...no hurry". After 3months I go and he remembers my name, I have his cell number. My nut even said he has had patients from several other Drs and Dr Ponce's patients are better in the sense tthat the stomach can tolerate all kinds of food, which in many cases is determined by the type of stapple used. Again if anyone wants more info...feel free !!

Hiello, my Dr was also Ponce de leon. i am mexican and live here in Tijuana, and all of my Drs recommended him over all others mentioned, Dr Ponce is not the cheepest but per everyone who did my pre-op test, he is the best. I had my surgery at Angeles hospital, which is more expensive, but if anything did happen my insirance would cover complications there, not at the clinic. Insurance here does not cover WLS. I have lost 50 lbs since june. If you have any question please let me know, from all the posts here your mom is the other patient of his that I know of !!!!

Hi everyone, I was sleveed 2 months ago and I am frustared i am losing so slooooow. I have lost about 32lbs since surgery. I am at 212lbs soi have a long way to go.... Buuut, last night i saw how i look like and....i finally saw the difference !!. I dont have a full body mirror in my house sooo....i had a appointment at my drs office, the building has mirror glass and as i was leaving the office, at night, i saw my reflexion on the glass....my initial reaction was ....is that me ? I really had to look down on my clothes to see my shirt....it was me. I have a long way to go, And will get there eventually, slowly i guess, and Will have to accept that, but i was so happy to see for myself the change in me....
