Hey everyone! I have a couple of questions about excerise and what everyone uses. I'm only 5 weeks out and I'm really excited to actually start the ab excersises. The thing is I have no clue where to start! I've always ran my whole life, I'm fine with that (a few years of playing soccer and lacrosse) but I wanted to really get focused with my body. I know if I do weight training and what not there's a less likely chance of my skin to sag. I wanted to know if anyone had any good results with dvds/videos and stuff. So I'm just looking for some advice. I really want to start good habits early so that I don't get lazy later on =p plus schools out for me so the goal for my summer is to get healthy! Ps. I know that muscle weighs more than fat so did anyone have a problem wth losing weight while they were doing the weight training?

That sounds like a good idea! a close friend told me about the zumba too. but do you have idea about something like p90x? I mean do you think its too intense for someone who is barely 6 weeks out? I think i can handle it (i hope so anyway =p) because i like a good challenge!! i saw what it could do. a friend that lived next door to me in school had p90x and in one semester it made a huge difference, but he hadnt been sleeved before! so i dont know if i should start now or wait a bit more

First off, i hope this post doesnt scare anyone. I was just hoping for some advice. I am currently on the hospital bed, and i got sleeved yesterday. I just wanted to know if the pressure on my chest is normal? ive also been throwing up and gagging (air because ive had nothing to eat or drink for the past two days). I just wanted to know if anyone else went through this and for how long. ive already been through the frustrated cry of "omg, whyd i do this to myself" and im hoping itll all be worth it in the end!

Thank you so much everyone! I was hysterically crying this morning from the pain. But I've been walking around to the point where the nurses are saying "you again?" Lol. I whined myself off of the pain meds because that was making me gag and vomit so I'm better off with out it. Seriously, thank you for all of your advice. It's so comforting knowing that I can come here and get such great advice especially when I'm feeling extra shitty and confused. I'm eating some sugerfree kosher gelatin now and I'm feeling better. Its so weird eating tiny TINY bites, but I have to! Again, thanks so much everyone! -
How much weight did everyone lose?
royanstrap posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HEY EVERYONE! im getting sleeved on friday the 20th in NYC and i have two questions! If anyone could help that would be great. My first question is if it's bad to do some type of cardio exercise everyday? I mean my doctor just said a 3-5 times a week but id be really willing to run or jog everyday because it's the summer, and i'm pretty much free! Also how much did everyone lose in their first three months? At the end of the summer im going to europe and i just wanna know roughly how much wight id lose? Im 5'7 and i weigh 275 now and i have to lose 5 more pounds before friday (which, surprisingly, im not too worried about!). I know everyone is different with losing weight but i was just hoping to get an estimate! thanks so much! =D Im just SOOOOOOO excited that all of this is happening. I've waited such a long time and im extremely happy! -
Also on the same boat (May 20th!)!!! =D and i also have leg pains, but that was from playing sports in high school, but my family history is what is really pushing me for this surgery. My father is in and out of the hospital, and i honestly wouldnt want what ive been through for my future children. I think it's a good age to get sleeved. It's an opportunity to get healthy young, so that healthy habits are implemented early!

Hey everyone! i'm new to the forum, and ive been looking for tips to start my pre-op diet while im still in school. I will be sleeved on May 20th, which i'm super excited about! I need to start my 10 day pre-op diet soon and i just wanted to know if anyone has tips for a college student. I dont have my own kitchen so i'm basically stuck to a fridge and microwave. Also, my surgeon just wants me to do a high protein, low calorie diet, but i feel like i wouldnt lose as much weight, so is it recommended that i just do a liquid diet? It would also help prepare me for the first stage post-op right? Well thanks for reading! Any and all tips would be great! =D

thanks everyone! and same Kira127. I've been looking around the salad bar mostly and i realized that i could make due with what i have for another week or so. Even though it isnt ideal, it's a start. Im just so glad that im getting sleeved after school is over because then i have the whole summer to adjust to everything! And though i should probably be doing the low carb/cal diet, i still feel like doing the liquid diet is gonna prepare me for after the surgery while allowing me to lose a little extra weight! I also have a question about the greek yogurt. I already eat one Chobani everyday, because theyre just SO delicious, but after i get sleeved am i only required to have the unflavored yogurt instead of the fruit?
