Considering Lap Band and found this forum, just saying hello
lassie replied to iammagicmike's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I lost enough weight on the six months diet required by my insurance that they denied me. It took me a month to gain some of it back, then my doctor resubmitted the claim. Which was then approved, hugs and good luck. -
depends on there requirements' it took me a year to get approved. I was relentless but you need to advocate for yourself. hugs

I do agree on the Hoffa statement lol hugs -
OH my Labwalker, I thought it was ok to ask any question on this forum, he was asking a question and deserves answers without being told to get a life. I think you owe that person an apology.

coffee. Breakfast yogurt or oatmeal lunch turkey or ham with laughing cow cheese, or a salad. dinner chili, chicken, or a good Protein soup. I will eat potatoes and veg. do not eat Pasta, bread or red meat. I also try to stay away from anything that has flour in it. ( will eat some hamburger meat in chili or a casserole that I make myself.) Snack I have special K chips, or laughing cow ice cream bar. I also have a glass or wine now and then hugs -

Did anyone NOT have to do the preop diet?
lassie replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have to do the Pre-Op diet. My doctor said that if I had more weight to lose I would. I guess my liver was not that big, I think if the liver is big they need to reduce the size before surgery or they will not be able to move things around in there. hugs -
Please everyone be careful!!!

Banded 24th may 2013, anyone else?
lassie replied to larsylooloo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded on May 24th but a year ago 2012. I have lost 62 pounds. I think losing 19 pounds in such a short time is amazing good for you. hugs -
How strict are you day to day?
lassie replied to Mizz_Megan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, I eat small portions all of the time but sometimes I have a little ice-cream or a bite of my husband food when we eat out. I still do not eat bread ( although I sometimes have some crotons ) or pasta. I did stick to the doctor's plan for quite a few months after I was banded. OH I also did cheat with a glass of wine now and then. hugs -
I am a year out May 24th I was hoping that I would be at goal but will be a few pounds short. I am still so grateful I am still losing a little at a time (maybe a pound a month ) I think you are still not at the green zone, I would continue the fills, I think it is great that you still see your doctor every three months, I think that keeps you on track even if you are not losing what you think you should. hugs to you and keep going.

we all are not perfect. That is why we are here today, do not be to hard on yourself. I would try and be more carful since it is so soon after surgery, it is a time to heal. I have had hard days and over indulged sometimes but get back on the wagon asap. Good luck to you and hugs.

lassie replied to larsylooloo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I thought you might be when I read some words that were spelled different from the good old USA. Hang in there it will get better. I think we all were a little scared before the surgery, please keep us informed on how you are doing. We all care, hugs -

lassie replied to larsylooloo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have never heard of that diet but do know that some people need to shrink the liver before surgery. Are you British? just thinking that they might have different ideas on the pre-op diet. hugs and please follow your doctor advice.
