Gooood morning! About to enter for surgery!
lassie replied to NewLifeRight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I pray that your recovery is fast and painless -
Good luck on your journey please do your research, my doctor also tried to talk me out of the lap band and go for more complicated surgery. I did not want to be cut inside so I stuck to my guns and he did the surgery, I think there was information out there that the band was not working as well as the other options. But I still did some more research and I still wanted the band. Good luck to you Hugs

I wish you well on your journey, I also have had a concern with my weight my whole life ( I will be 65 tomorrow ) My knees were starting to bother me and a few other concerns that I contributed to my weight. I could always lose some of the weight but then gained it back. I had my band May 4th and have only lost about 50 pounds but I think coming of slow is good for my old skin. I am so happy for you and hope you are doing this mainly for yourself, the band does make it easier but you still have to eat right and follow the doctor’s orders. I hope you post often and keep us up to date on your journey. Hugs

Directly after surgery ...
lassie replied to AlexaLasVSG's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So funny, I still think I am going to explode my band, but so far it is all good. I did not feel to hungry the first few weeks but was so grateful to be able to eat some cottage cheese (which I never eat very much ) I think I even thanked God with every bite. Good luck to you on your journey. Hugs -
very nice, and I love your smile, hugs

Two Points, one to brag and one to ponder
lassie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two points: one to brag and one to ponder. Point one I tried on size 14 pants the other day and they were to big so I had the sales lady bring me a size 12. I put them on and they fit. I was doing back flips (well almost) in the dressing room. Woohoo. Point to ponder. I am 65, and even although I am up there in age I do remember when I was in my twenties. My weight was about 135 my pant size was 12. So how come now at 180 I am a size 12? -
I do not think your doctor will be upset, he will help you to find out why this is happening. Maybe you just need a fill or two to get you back on track. After surgey your body needs time to heal. Please do not beat up on yourselve, keep to the doctors orders and it will start coming off. Also Please do not be afraid to ask your doctor anything, if he does get upset with you and you feel like you are following all his orders then it might be a good time to get a different doctor. Good luck to you, hugs

December date
lassie replied to Bandswillmakeherdance's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can remember when I got the call I was so excited as I had been turned down three times by my insurance company. Welcome to the forum learn all you can from past posts and stay in touch, hugs -
Welcome I have lost about 2 pounds a week since May 24th when I was banded. I did lose a little more the first month, I did not do a pre-diet so did not lose anything before surgery. It seems to be getting a little harder to lose now ( I am losing about 2 to 3 pounds a month ) but that is ok. I am started to sag in some places so I hope the slow weight lose will help with that. It is so different for everyone, please stay in touch with this forum it has been such a great help to me, hugs

Cereal/whole Wheat Toast/pasta/rice
lassie replied to lovely29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only bread product I can tolerate without getting stuck are crotons. When we go out to eat I always ask for a small bowl. When everyone else is eating bread I do not feel left out. It also gives me the satisfying crunch feeling. Hugs. -
