Pre op diet: how much did you lose?
lassie replied to contrabanded's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
did not have to lose any weight before surgery. I did put myself on a diet and lost to much so was denied by my insurance so when I gained it back I was approved, crazy. Hugs -
took one year, so 7 months does not seem to long it will go by quickly. Good luck on your journey. Hugs

Doing good we are between houses, sold ours very quickly and now living in a hotel until we can find a new house. Have been eating out for the past month, it has not been to hard, all places you can find something to eat. Have only lost about two pounds this month. Praying we will find the perfect house this week. Hugs

is gas pain really this bad???
lassie replied to melidawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not a doctor, we all tolerate pain at a different level so not sure how bad it is. I also had bad gas pains for about two weeks drove me crazy. That said you need to call your doctor and talk to him/her or the nurse and run it by them. Hugs to you I will say a wee pray for you tonight. -

I forgot to answer one of your questions. The time-line on each was just about a week.

The second time my Doctor office did write a letter not sure if it was an appeal. I think they just kept resubmitting the paper work. My doctor's staff did everything they were the best. Good luck to you and hugs
-
The first one they turned down because my sleep apnea was not bad enough to qualify. The second time my doc put in for my weight (which was borderline for their requirements). They turned that down because I needed to be on a documented six month nutritional diet. After my six month they turned me down because I had lost just enough weight to be under their guidelines. I was about five pounds under. So I went back to the nutritionist for another month and gained back the five pounds and two more. My doctor resubmitted to paperwork one more time and they approved it. It has been a journey but so worth it, Hugs

I have Tri-Care and had to do three appeals. It was worth it in the end and hey what do you have to lose. No pun intended hugs

lassie replied to jayreilly56's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It will get better, I wanted real food so bad. When I could have Cottage Cheese it was like mana, I was thanking god with every bite. Hang in there and keep following the doctors orders. Hugs -
you are doing it, so give yourself a big pat on the back. Whoo Whoo love to hear these stories. Hugs

HI Jackie, Weight loss has definitely slowed down, have lost about 50 pounds. I did not have to start losing before surgery on May 24th but it came of quickly the first few months. I have only had one fill but will have another one next month. I did go in for a fill last month but the doctor did not think I needed one at that time. I sure feel I need one now. Still keeping to good food choices for the band, although I do have a treat now and then. My concern is the exercise I am not faithful, hope to do better. How are you doing? Hugs

Portsmouth naval hospital
lassie replied to ncskinnymama's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
yes, at OHSU in Portland Oregon. I did have issues before I was approved ( they turned me down three times before I was approved ) but after that it was ok. They paid for all of the surgery and doctors. Good luck on your journey, hugs -

lassie replied to Krussell19's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My port has always bothered me a little. I feel it when I bend over and at different other times. I am getting used to it now. I hope it will not bother me to much this summer when I wear my two piece bathing suit. hehe. ( just kidding never have wore a two piece ) -
I did not have that bad a time I am sorry you were in so much pain. Prayers coming your way. Hugs
