nope for me only told my daughter and my husband and best friend. Do not want people watching what I eat that would drive me crazy. I feel if I had some ice-cream or something they thought was not appropriate they would be judging me. Had enough of that in my life. Everyone is different you need to find what works for you. My advice is to go slow only tell a few to start and see how is goes. God Bless Lassie

Please do not give up. I agree- go visit your doctor's and see what he can do for you both. Maybe you just need a fill to get you going again, or maybe a group would help so that you can talk it out and get help from a few people. God Bless Lassie

lassie replied to Tru**Brit's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
good luck Lassie -
Ideas for food on long flight. Will be on long flight in a couple weeks, I think 13-15 hours non- stop for the first flight. Not sure what the food will be like can you give me some ideas on what I could take on board. I have had one fill so I can eat some solid foods now. Thanks Lassie

Those Recently Banded: Whats Ur First Short Term Goal?

Mine was to wear these yellow pants I have ( size 12 ) when I was on vacation next month. Not going to make it but I think I set my expectations a little high, LOL Lassie -
welcome and good luck on your journey Lassie

Welcome to the forum. I was also on a rollercoaster of fear and terror; it did get a little better as the time approached. I was banded (May 24th 2012) The health insurance in the UK will not pay for this type of surgery? Hang in there it will get better and then it will be wonderful. God bless Lassie

1Wk On From 2Nd Fill & It Still Hurts To Drink Water
lassie replied to wa-wookie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think if it is that difficult you need to call your doc. I had my first fill last week and could not drink water so the doc. took out 1.5 cc's Some people do not need any fills and still lose. Please call your doctor no harm done to call. Lassie -
congrats Lassie

Doctor In Training Doing My First Fill Yikes.
lassie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea first fill yesterday. Did not go wonderful but I am so glad it is over. Concern was that I am going on Vacation for a month and the Doc Assistant wanted to be aggressive. (This is what I wanted also) She was not sure how much the doc had put in at surgery if any. She had a new doctor in the room he was in training (training on how to give fills). I was his first so that made me nervous. They put in 3cc in my 10cc band. Then took it all out to see what the total was with what the doc had put in at surgery the total was 6cc so he had put in 3cc’s. Hope you are all still with me, I think I am confused. Lol Next they put in the full 6cc’s back in and had me drink a wee bit of Water. Not good I could hardly swallow the water and got stuck, that was not comfortable. They took out 1.5 cc’s and had me drink more water it was much better. I do not want to scare new people but it did hurt, not sure if it was the new doc, he did have to stick me a few times before he got it, that did curl my toes. Stayed on liquids until about an hour ago then had some cottage cheese it went down just fine. I am nervous to try the chicken if a few days. I will go back in two weeks to get a another fill if I need it a few days before I go on vacation. Am I the last of the May bandsters to get a first fill? Oh -deep breath- for the next stage.
