    1st Fill - Still Hungry & Frustrated

I know you posted this months ago. However I am where you were then, today. I would love to hear how you are doing now. It is had to think that I spend the majority of our savings on a surgery that may not be the answer. I know i need to excerise more but hate the idea of it. I have a lapband and it only holds 4cc. The but 1.7 in on my first fill and I still feel hungry and am able to eat more than I want to. I was banded on 5-26 and lost 25 pounds the first month. I have only lost about 5 pounds this month. ON the bright side I am down a clothes size and can see the weight difference even though the scale isn't reflecting it. Look forward to hearing from you. Debbie
  4. Day 4 and the scale still hasn't moved. I think I am to concerned with the calorie intake and scale movement. Today I was starving and I waited forever to eat because I didn't want to add the calories to my tracker. I am only eating between 600-800 calories a day. I was so temped to eat candy or something I really wanted. I haven't felt this way since before surgey. I realized that I did that to myself. When I am hungry I need to eat something healthy. I eat less then 1/2 ...

  5. Okay 3 days later and I still weigh 244. I am trying to stay positive, but what the heck. I am done with the liquid phase and am able to eat mushy foods. I know I'm not hungry but struggling to stop putting things in my mouth. I have gone from 150 calories a day to about 800. Other then no movement on the scale. I am feeling great. I have had no problems with any foods and my husband has been great to walk with me. I am going to try and stay off the scale for the next couple of d...

  6. 244 this morning, as much as I dislike the liquid diet the jump start of losing 16 makes it all worth it. I know is will slow down some but I am determined excerise and count calories to make sure I make the most of the first 6 month. Feeling great!

  7. Day 1 of week 2 post op - Enjoyed oatmeal and a cup of creamy soup. Everything went down without a problem. Feeling really good. Still have some pain at the port sight but it gets better everyday.

  8. Had a great day at work. Only found myself holding my port once. :) I am sure people are starting to think I'm pregnant seeing how I didn't share that I was being banded and I keep holding my stomach. I am down 13 pounds today and feeling so good about my progress I am nervous to start eating more. I have to remember although the weight lose will slow it won't stop.

    May 2011 Bandsters Report In

Hello..I am thrilled to find this site it has been a lifesaver. I was banded on the 26th. The first few days I felt great but was taking pain meds every 6 hours. I walked alot in order to get rid of the gas. Yesterday was my worst day I couldn't leave the bathroom and was dry heaving. I was really questioning if I had made the right decision. I posted a message for help inbetween the tears and gagging and was touched by the support. It really helped me realize that I am not in this alone and I can make this work with the help of friends that are battling the same issues. As for diet my doctor has me on clear liquids (broth, Jello, clear juices) for a full 7 days. I have lost 10 pounds so far and can't wait until Thursday when I get to eat liquids that aren't clear. I would have never thought I could get excited for a pudding or creamed soup but I am dying for some variety. I get to the point I would rather go without then have anymore broth. I look forward to hearing everyones experiences and sharing our success
  10. Thursday I get cream of wheat. You have to have something to look forward to. :)

  11. Yesterday was hell. I wasn't sure I was going to make it though. I was really questioning if I had made the right decision. Seeing how it was only day 4 it was probably a little early to panic. Today is a new day and I am feeling much better. I went to work and was able to funtion with very few issues. Still struggling to find time to set aside to eat. That is when the liquid diet comes in handy. Carried around a bottle of juice all day.

    feeling ill, help needed

Thank you so much for the words of encourgement. I was terrified and just needed to know that it would pass. It helps to talk to people who have been there.
  13. I had lap band on May 26th and immediately felt great. Well day 4 and I am nauseous and running to the bathroom every 10-15 minutes. I am still on a liquid diet and feel like there is nothing I can do. I am more than a little panicked. I left a message for the doctor by with the holiday I am not getting any response. I could use any advice I can get. I have read on some forums that diarria is very common with Lap band and I am starting to wonder if I have made the right decision. Help.

    Post-Op...AHHH!

I too was banded on the 26th. I had it done in Mexico and did fairly well the days I was in the hospital. I was up walking round trying to get rid of the gas. I really wasn't hungry. Well all changed when I got home. I am not sure it that is because of habits. I am not physically hungry but dying for something worth eating. I find myself smelling the food I am serving my family and just trying to convince myself that it is only 4 more days to liquids with flavor. We can do anything for 4 days. My doctor has me only on liquids. There is no Protein until next week. Is that typically? How are you feeling at the port site? I am still walking and working out the gas but my biggest issue is the pain I have in my port site when I sit down, stand up or roll over. When does that pain stop?
